Texas Southern University is one of the biggest historically black universities in the United States. Each semester they enroll more than 10,000 students and offer over 100 comprehensive academic programs. Texas A&M International University is an extension of the Texas A&M system located in Laredo, Texas. Each semester they serve over 7,000 students on their 300-acre campus. A focus on global awareness is facilitated in many ways. Morgan State is a public, historically black university with a history of educating students in Baltimore for more than 150 years. MSU is the largest historically black university in Maryland, with an average student enrollment of around 7,500. The University is regionally accredited and a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. The Graves School of Business and Management is also prestigiously accredited by the AACSB. Many professors in the SBM are people of color, and more than 90% have completed a PhD in their discipline. This representation of success creates an inclusive environment for all students to learn and reach their academic and career goals. There are nine undergraduate degrees available, as well as several master’s and a PhD program. On-campus there are many inclusive clubs and organizations like the African Student Organization, International Association of Black Actuaries, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the National Council of Negro Women.

The Feliciano School of Business is AACSB accredited and offers many bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Their graduate programs include a weeknight MBA with an executive speaker series, a 9-10 international study trip, and a globally focused curriculum. OSJD Ambassadors is another way for both undergraduate and graduate students to volunteer and develop both small and large diversity education programs and initiatives. Even though the current health crisis has changed things a bit on campus, the University still recently celebrated Black Heritage Month with a series of virtual events.

The Greehey School of Business has been educating those hoping to enter the business world since 1923. St. Mary’s University is situated in San Antonio, Texas. St. Mary’s is a private Marianist liberal arts institution and the oldest Catholic university in the state of Texas. The Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business is named after two business students who attended UT Dallas looking for an international business education. They then went on to create SB International and gift the University a state-of-the-art business hall. More than half of the University of Dallas’s business students identify as people of color. The University’s location in Irving, Texas, places students near the center of one of the country’s busiest and most diverse cities. UD is a private, Catholic university that holds both AACSB business accreditation and regional accreditation with the Southern Commission of Colleges and Schools. The University of Dallas takes many steps to ensure that all students on campus feel safe and represented. One way that this is addressed is through scholarships such as the First Generation/Constantin Scholars Program, scholarships specifically allotted for underrepresented and first-generation students, and the Cristo Rey Network Scholarship.

The Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration carries prestigious AACSB accreditation. The Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship is AACSB accredited and offers bachelor’s degrees in Economics, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, International Business, Information Systems, Management, Hospitality, and more. Florida International University is a part of the State University System of Florida. The University itself is regionally accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the College of Business carries elite accreditation through the AACSB. Recently the School of Business was ranked at #2 for International Business and #8 in International Business by U.S. News. There are many ways for business students to get involved on campus and help their community. AIESEC Miami is an international leadership organization that supports young people as they become global leaders. ENACTUS, International Business Honors Society, and the National Association for Black Accountants are all clubs that encourage multicultural leadership development as well. The 578-acre campus is located in University Park, Florida. After its establishment in 1965, the FIU quickly became the largest university in the Greater Miami region. They are also the second-largest university in the state and the fourth-largest by enrollment in the nation.

More than 51% of the University of Baltimore’s business students identify as people of color. The Merrick School of Business holds elite AACSB accreditation, making it one of the nation’s top business schools. The School’s prime location in Baltimore lends itself to many networking opportunities, internships, and cultural experiences. The Diversity Center on campus frequently holds diversity events. Some of the past themes for these events included black history month trivia, diversity dialogue, a cultural outing to Washington, DC, and a paint and talk session. There are also many organizations that support students of color, such as the African Student Union, Black Student Union, International Student Association, Saudi Student Association at UB, and the Women of Color Student Association. Claremont Graduate University is a private graduate-level research university in Claremont, California. The Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management offers small class sizes taught by professors with extensive industry experience. The School of Management at the New Jersey Institute of Technology is highly regarded and carries prestigious accreditation with the AACSB. Nearly half of the business students enrolled at the University of Houston-Clear Lake are people of color. UHCL is a part of the University of Houston System. They serve around 9,000 students each semester through their main campus and two branch campuses around the Houston area. Although it is a smaller university, the University of Houston-Clear Lake has an alumni of over 73,000, making it a great place to network for those who would rather not travel into the city for classes. UC Riverside is one of 10 University of California campuses. The main campus sits on an impressive 1,900 acres in Riverside, California, and serves around 25,000 students each semester. Nearly 50% of those enrolled in the business programs UCR are people of color. Texas A&M University-Commerce is the third-largest institution of the Texas A&M University System; it is also the fourth oldest state university or college in Texas. More than 45% of students who participate in business programs at TAMU-Commerce identify as people of color. The College of Business is endorsed by the Institute for Management Accountants and AACSB accredited. Undergraduate degrees can be earned in Business Analytics, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Management, Marketing, or General Business. The J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University is home to a diverse student body population. Several distinguished minorities serve as chairs of Robinson’s 11 departments: Accountancy, Analytics, Computer Information Systems, Economic Forecasting, Finance, Health Administration, Hospitality Administration, International Business, Marketing, Real Estate, and Risk Management and Insurance. Business students of all races are encouraged to actively participate in the Center for Leadership, which hosts events such as Meet the Executives: Diversity and Inclusion. Leadership Scholars also present diversity training. Students have multiple themed housing options available, including the College of Business and Economics residence hall, Global Engagement Community, and the Athena House. Global Engagement students have opportunities to reside with international students, celebrate international holidays, and travel abroad. Athena House offers leadership events and workshops open to female students from any culture.

The inclusive environment at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business will empower students from different ethnicities to achieve their goals of earning a business degree. InclusiveVT is a campus-wide initiative to increase cultural competency and ensure representation for diverse communities. VT has been recognized as a Diversity Champion by INSIGHT into Diversity magazine for five consecutive years. The Future Faculty Diversity program is responsible for recruiting a diverse staff. Community outreach programs will launch in 2022 as an effort to attract more African American, Native American, Hispanic, and first-generation college students. Pamplin CoB aims to incorporate a global perspective, and all students are required to complete a course on equity and identity. In efforts to reach more students, Pamplin offers an evening MBA at Falls Church, an Executive MBA in Arlington, and Professional MBA courses in Richmond and Roanoke. The University of St. Thomas sits close to downtown Houston, one of the most diverse cities in the United States. At the Cameron School of Business, students are exposed to diversity in the classroom and through real-world work opportunities. Nearly half of the students identify with an ethnic minority group, and through internships and consulting projects, students collaborate with colleagues from around the world. Cameron SoB is a proud participant in the United Nations Global Compact, which emphasizes diversity and inclusion in the business curriculum. Minority students often face many obstacles, but the professors at the University of Albany’s School of Business are dedicated to helping students succeed. Faculty receive special training on shaping the classroom environment and ways to engage in meaningful diversity discussions in the classroom through the Dialogue in Action series hosted by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. The AACSB-accredited SoB offers undergraduate programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Digital Forensics, and Financial Market Regulation. Accounting, Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity, Forensic Accounting, Professional Accountancy, Taxation, and several MBA programs are offered at the graduate level. Catholic mass is also offered every Sunday on campus. Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s College of Business realizes what an asset it is to have a diverse student population. The COB features its own Office of Inclusion and Diversity to increase matriculation and graduation rates of underrepresented student groups. Minority students can receive a professional mentor to guide them through the challenges of college and a peer mentor to have a personal support system on campus. Tutorial assistance and study skills workshops give students additional help they may need. Several scholarships, such as the Hispanic College Fund and the United Negro College Fund, are also available to help students fund their business education. COB undergraduate students can study Accounting, Business Analytics, Business and Administration, Economics, Finance, Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management, Management, and Marketing. The highly esteemed Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University celebrates diversity. KSU is the second-largest college in the state of Georgia, so many cultures are represented on campus. The Cultural and Community Center offers a series that may be of interest to business students titled “Unpacking the Hustle: Exploring Early Black Entrepreneurship.” Students can also participate in Diversity Week and MLK Week, as well as attend the Summer Diverse Student Leaders Summit. Coles also participates in Black History Month and launched a chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals for America in 2020. Additionally, business students can join the National Association of Black Accountants or the Internationally Business Students Association. COB students can obtain an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Hospitality Management, Information Security and Assurance, Information Systems, International Business, Management, Marketing, and Professional Sales. Dynamic master’s degrees are available in Accounting, Healthcare Management and Informatics, Information Systems, and an MBA. A Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration is also offered.

Binghamton University SUNY’s School of Management values diverse perspectives in the classroom. Students come from across the country and around the world. Upon arriving at campus, they quickly form their own SOM family by participating in the Association of Latino Professionals for America, the International Student Association, and the National Association of Black Accountants. In honor of George Floyd, Bingham University began a new tradition in 2020 to award five annual scholarships for students demonstrating outstanding social change. Among the first recipients was an Economics major who is raising funds for the Caribbean Project and who volunteers at inner-city schools. Adventurous students can also explore the world through SUNY-affiliated universities in 20 countries, including China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Undergraduate students can begin their business path with either a Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Business Administration. The Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas brings together diverse business students to create innovation and lively discussions. Lee students can support equality in the workplace by attending the coffee chat “Identify and Reframe Limiting Beliefs.” First-generation students majoring in Accounting can earn The Stephanie Wolf Hughes First Generation Scholarship through a partnership from a generous UNLV business alum and the Diversity Initiatives. First-Gen Connect provides academic services such as tutorials and workshops to help students succeed in their college journey. Diversity abounds at the University of Washington Bothell’s SoB, with close to half of the students identifying as an ethnic minority. The SoB’s Mentorship EDGE program is built on four pillars: Empowerment, Diversity, Growth, and Employability. Students are paired with professional business leaders, and these relationships often lead to internship or job offers. Research talks and the Dean’s Distinguished Speaker Series also give students the opportunity to learn from successful professionals. Past topics have included discussions about race and equality, such as The Evolution of Intragroup Conflict, Should I Conceal Being Different, and Vocal Minority and Silent Majority. Northeastern Illinois University’s College of Business and Management offers a racially and ethnically mixed student population that positively impacts the school’s inclusive culture. Marketing professor, Karsaklian, published “The After Deal,” which focuses on cultural differences and awareness when negotiating contracts and maintaining ongoing business partnerships. The Rawls College of Business Administration at Texas Tech University consists of students of Hispanic, black, and Asian origins. Rawls is committed to five core values including, “foster diversity and inclusion.” Rawls hosts many events to support this commitment, including the Annual Diversity Symposium, featuring guest alum speakers, panels on a diverse workplace, and a discussion on the cultural climate of Rawls. The Donuts and Diversity series explores equality issues related to gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, and race. Previous talks have included The Effect of Bias in the Classroom and Female Alum in Male-Dominated Careers. Undergraduate students will earn a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Energy Commerce, Finance, Information Technology, Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management. Graduate students can pursue a Professional MBA with a concentration in Big Data Strategy, Energy Business, or Health Organization Management. The UT Arlington’s College of Business offers an exceptional, tight-knit community that fosters diversity. UTA is ranked 5th for Ethnic Diversity by U.S. News and World Report. The university has also been named a Top 100 for Hispanic Students by the Hispanic Outlook on Education magazine and a Best School for Latinos, according to Latino Leaders magazine. Business students are actively involved in the Association of Latino Professionals for America. The COB also offers a Diversity, Racial Equity, and Inclusion Group geared towards faculty and doctoral students with an interest in pursuing research on creating equality in the workplace. In 2020, business alumna Brandenburg gifted $800,000 to the Center for Mexican American Studies and the Center for African American Studies, which will fund scholarships for minority students, student research, and guest speakers. The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma has made great strides in attracting scholars of all races and ethnicities and currently serves over one-third of minority students. Business students can give back to the local community by enrolling in the unique Board Governance two-semester course. In this hands-on class, students serve on a non-profit board, such as the Asia Pacific Cultural Center or United Way of Tacoma, and create a project that serves the needs of the organization. Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business features a vibrant community where minority students receive the support they need to thrive. FAU is proud to be designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution and is one of the most diverse campuses in Florida. Female business students with significant financial needs may apply to live in the Business and Professional Women’s Scholarship House. The Center for Inclusion, Diversity Education, and Advocacy features Liberating Conversations, a series that allows students to address race, class, ethnicity, and gender. Students can also enhance their cultural awareness by attending the Diversity Matters Student Leadership Symposium. The COB can help students achieve their business goals through one of nine outstanding undergraduate majors: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Health Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management, International Business, Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing. The Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration at Valdosta State University welcomes business students from diverse cultural heritages. Through Student Diversity and Inclusion, three scholarships are offered to help students who are making efforts to make the campus climate more inclusive. In 2020, the Student Government Association passed a resolution to hold an annual campus-wide Celebration of Inclusion. Students from different cultures can also come together to share a meal at the Diversity Dinners of Hope, participate in discussions about race and gender issues in a safe environment at the Brave Space Dialogue series, and earn extra credit for the online Diversity Film Series. The dual AACSB-accredited COBA offers undergraduate majors for the Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, International Business, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Management, and Marketing. The Master of Accounting program prepares students to sit for the CPA exam, and three MBA programs are offered for students seeking to advance their business knowledge.

The College of Business at the University of Central Florida is committed to diversity amongst students and faculty members. In 2016, COB introduced the Diversity Speaker Series after the tragic mass shooting at a Florida nightclub. Business professionals from different backgrounds are invited to tell inspiring stories about how they’ve overcome adversity and become successful leaders. COB offers 20 business organizations, including the National Association of Black Accountants and the Association of Latino Professionals for America. At Loyola Marymount University’s College of Business Administration, students learn the importance of making money and making a difference. The CBA recently launched the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Project, which incorporates three phases aimed at creating an equitable learning environment. The Center for Asian Business and the Center for International Business Education offers hands-on international business courses such as Business Chinese and Global Sustainability. In 2019, faculty members received international professional development through a ten-day immersion program in South Korea.
