The AACSB-accredited Miami Herbert Business School at the University of Miami has been producing global business leaders since 1929. It has over 3,200 students in attendance and has built an alumni network of 47,000 people worldwide. Education
Those pursuing a Bachelors degree can major in Business Technology, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Health Management & Policy, Legal Studies, Marketing, Real Estate, or International Finance & Marketing. A student can also co-major in Global Business Studies. Graduate students can pursue a Masters degree in Economics, Accounting, Health Administration, Business Analytics, International Business Studies, Management Studies, or the new Masters in Sustainable Business. Master of Business Administration students have a variety of options to choose from, including the Full-time MBA, Accelerated MBA in Real Estate, Professional MBA, Global Executive MBA, Executive MBA en Espanol, Executive MBA for Artists & Athletes, and the Executive MBA for Health Sector Management & Policy. A variety of doctoral degrees are available, including a Ph.D. in Management Science, Organizational Behavior, Economics, Operations Management, and Strategy/International Business. The Global Executive MBA is uniquely a part of an MBA consortium involving five schools.
Miami’s Business School is the only one in the U.S. and joins with universities in Mexico, Brazil, the Netherlands, and China to form the OneMBA. All five schools send students to spend week-long immersions together on four different continents for incredible global insight and multicultural experiences. Herbert Business School believes that “all business is global.” Because of that, it provides a variety of summer, semester, and full-year exchange study abroad trips to cities like Paris, Florence, Milan, High Wycombe-England, Hong Kong, Perth, Amsterdam, and Madrid.
Student Life
The heart of Herbert Business School is to provide life-changing, career-building, and life-fulfilling opportunities for every student. Students can participate in student organizations such as the Entrepreneurship Club, Ethics Society, Hyperion Council, Real Estate and Finance Association, Women in Business, Consulting Club, Finance & Investments Club, Graduate Business Student Association, Cryptocurrency Club, and Sustainability Club. Finance students can participate in managing a real investment fund and joining a scholars program that focuses on investments.
Faculty have the privilege of conducting “advanced, technology-driven marketing research” in the ‘Canes Behavioral Lab. Alumni are actively involved in the lives of students, especially in a mentoring role, and offer an incredible amount of professional connections. Students can get involved in the university’s centers and institutes, which provide research, training, seminars, workshops, consulting, education, and other services to the local community and beyond. These centers encompass international business, health management and policy, leadership, and analytics. Another great educational resource is the lecture series, which includes high-ranking and distinguished business leaders that speak on a diverse set of business topics.
