Satish and Yasmin Gupta met at the University of Dallas and began the plans for SB International while still in school. This company now plays a vital role in the oil and gas industry in both the United States and in Canada. The AACSB-accredited Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business at the University of Dallas has a beautiful, advanced, and modern building thanks to the Gupta’s generous donation in 2014. Now it has almost 1,000 students working towards obtaining degrees and over 17,000 alumni worldwide.

Education

The high-quality and experienced faculty focus on educational research that benefits the university, the business community, and the world. Undergraduates can study a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Business. Non-business majors can complete a minor in Business. Graduate students can obtain a Master of Science degree in Accounting, Business Analytics, Cybersecurity, Cyber Intelligence, Finance, Financial Analytics, or Information & Technology Management. The Master of Business Administration has concentrations in Cybersecurity, IT Management, Accounting, Strategic Leadership, Business Analytics, and Finance. The College of Business’ Doctor of Business Administration is the only DBA program in the entire state of Texas that holds an AACSB accreditation.

Student Life

There are many financial aid opportunities for qualifying students including the Gupta College of Business Graduate Scholarship, the DFW RIMS (Risk Management Society) Scholarship, the George S. Sturgeon Cybersecurity Scholarship, and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.

Dallas is booming with corporations, enterprises, companies, not-for-profit organizations, and business start-ups. This growth gives the College of Business a great advantage to be able to utilize the educational experiences that surround them every day. University Partnerships “combine academic research with corporate initiatives.” To be able to collaborate, discuss, create, and apply learned principles with a plethora of industries is hugely beneficial. 

With profound importance placed on international business, the College of Business provides International University Partnerships in countries like Chile, China, France, Germany, Peru, Spain, and Taiwan. Corporate Partnerships involve talent development, corporate social responsibility, consulting & research, internships & recruitment, and executives on campus. Such partners include Kroger, Verizon, Southwest, Michaels, National Life Group, and Christus Health. 

The Executives on Campus program brings executives to the classroom to speak about excellence in management. The Executives in Residence provides students with executive mentors. The Center for Executive Education works with professionals at any life stage and assists them in setting and reaching their goals. This center offers career preparation and enhancement classes and training, customizable programs for companies, and a Leadership Lab that will begin in 2020. The Capstone Consulting Experience provides the ultimate hands-on training for MBA students. They complete projects, research, and consultations with all levels of business leaders from start-ups to Fortune 1000 companies.

Online Programs

The MBA and the Master of Science degrees can be completed in person or online. The DBA is a blended program to be completed online with required on-campus participation.
