For many students, a scholarship is the only way to attend college. Colorado college scholarships are also available without any regard to a person’s grades. Colorado college merit scholarships may be based on an individual’s ability to play sports well. There are also Colorado college scholarships for students based on their artistic ability. Sometimes, the requirements are based on a pupil’s financial need alone or possibly on their career path.

While some scholarship opportunities are specific to a field of interest, some are only available to students based on academic or athletic merit. Prospective students may find scholarships based on gender. Another common type of scholarships is those for certain ethnicities. The number of Hispanic and Native American students in Colorado means there are numerous opportunities for these groups to find their own scholarship.
