Education

The Bachelors in Business degree teaches the foundational principles of business while incorporating and developing skills in teamwork, communication, analytical thought, problem-solving, leadership, and strategic thinking. Graduate students can study for a Masters in Accounting, Full-time MBA, Evening Executive MBA, or a Weekend Executive MBA. MBA areas of concentration include Corporate Finance, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Family Enterprise Focus, Management Consulting, Real Estate, Sustainable Enterprise, and Operations Management. Doctoral students can study for a Ph.D. in Business with concentrations in Operations & Data Management, Accounting, Finance & Real Estate, and Strategy & Entrepreneurship.

Corporations can send their professionals to participate in the Executive Development Education courses that deal with leadership development, finding solutions for organizations, and customizable programs to meet the needs of the company. Global education is highly encouraged for all students, and the business school provides a large variety of options. Undergraduate students can attend an immersion elective in Japan, a summer study abroad program in Germany or Ireland, an international internship in Columbia or the Czech Republic, or an entire semester in Australia or Argentina. Graduate students can attend international summits, with the option to extend their stay in places like Shanghai, Johannesburg, or Buenos Aires. There are scholarships available to assist with the cost of international travel.

Students can highly benefit from participating in one of the professional business-specific student organizations including the Accounting Club, Business Technology Club, Women in Business, Real Estate Club, Consulting Club, Family Business Club, Marketing Club, Minority Business Student Alliance, MBA Student Association, Operations Club, Healthcare Club, and Carolina THINK(Tar Heel Innovation & Networking Kitchen).

Kenan-Flagler Cares represents the importance of putting others first and using learned skills and knowledge to help them. Every three years, a new non-profit organization becomes the partner in focus. Faculty, staff, and students collaborate, fundraise like with the successful Kenan-Flagler Cares Golf Tournament, and offer expert advice to direct the organization to meet its goals. An incredible action-based learning opportunity is through STAR(Student Teams Achieving Results). In STAR, students work together to collaboratively consult a real corporation on a real issue and help provide solutions.

Online Programs

A flexible, accessible, and affordable way to earn a UNC degree is through the online Masters in Accounting or online MBA. The online MBA has concentrations in Finance, Data Analytics & Decision Making, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Strategy & Consulting.
