The first-rate Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis is comprised of six departments, including the School of Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Insurance, Real Estate Management, Business Information and Technology, and Marketing and Supply Chain Management. The undergraduate degrees from this AACSB accredited school were nationally ranked 47th by U.S. News and World Report in 2019. The online business school has also received much recognition for its top-notch programs. CEO Magazine also listed Fogelman in its 2019 Global MBA rankings. The Online MBA ranks 43rd, and the Executive MBA ranks 56th. Hands-on learning is promoted in the classroom through state-of-the-art technology in the Cook Analytics and Trading Lab, labs designed to emulate Wall Street, as well as the Customer NeuroInsights Research Lab. This cutting-edge lab allows students to analyze consumer’s behaviors from eye tracking, facial expression recognition, and heart rate monitoring. Students also gain invaluable experience through business partnerships and internships in the metropolitan city of Memphis. Business students are encouraged to complete up to three internships prior to graduation, which allow students to test drive multiple future careers and to expand their professional network.
Education
Undergraduate degrees are offered through all six business departments. Five distinct MBA programs are offered; the Customer-Driven MBA, International MBA, Executive MBA, Professional MBA, and Online MBA. The Professional MBA provides flexibility for those working full-time with evening classes and the option to take some classes online. Students in the International MBA program will become more global-minded through study abroad and internship experiences with top global corporations. The International, Customer-Driven, and Executive MBA can be completed in 17 months. Students can also earn an MS in Accounting or Information Systems, MA in Economics, or an MSBA in Finance. P.h.D. concentrations include Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Business Information & Technology, and Marketing.
Student Life
UofM business students blossom into well-rounded professionals through a wide variety of programs. Students can earn a special certificate for participation in The Complete Professional Program by completing four or more learning modules and posting a resume’ on the Fogelman Internship Network. Modules include topics such as Dining Etiquette, Accounting Careers of Tomorrow, and Technology Careers in Business. The Against All Odds lunch lecture series gives students the chance to meet with successful local business experts. Female students can also join the Women in Leadership program for additional networking opportunities.
Online Programs
Busy professionals will be able to find a harmonious work/life/education balance with the UofM Global Online Business Programs. Students can study Accountancy, Business Information and Technology, Real Estate, Business Finance, Management, Marketing Management, or complete an MBA from the comfort of their home or office at a time convenient for their schedule. The curriculum is as rigorous as for on-campus programs and taught by the same highly qualified professors.
