The AACSB-accredited Davis College of Business at Jacksonville University is surrounded by a wide range of global industries, corporations, organizations, companies, and even international ports. This gives students a considerable advantage in hands-on, real-world educational experiences, internship opportunities, and career placement. Students are challenged, motivated, and inspired amidst the high-quality, rigorous, relevant, and innovative educational business programs.

Education

Jacksonville University has been educating future business leaders since 1979. Thanks to the large donations over the years from the successful business entrepreneur and philanthropist, J.E. Davis and his family, the College of Business has flourished and now educates its students in an advanced and innovative building. Undergraduate students can major in Accounting, Business Analytics, Business Information Systems, Economics, Finance, International Business, Management, Marketing, and Sports Business. Graduate students can pursue a Full-time MBA or an Executive MBA with an optional concentration in Leadership Development. In the fall of 2019, the Full-time Global MBA will launch in which students can study abroad or intern internationally. The partner institutions for the Global MBA are East China University of Science & Technology, Kingston University, European Business School, and Waseda University. Doctoral students can earn a Doctorate in Business Administration.

Through the numerous partnerships with local community businesses, comes an incredible amount of internship opportunities for business students with companies such as Black Knight Financial Services, The Haskell Company, Northwestern Mutual, and Southeastern Grocers. International institution partnerships are essential to provide the multicultural experience for faculty and students. These partnerships allow for exchange student programs, faculty collaboration and exchanges, international internships, and short-term study abroad trips to places like Scotland, Germany, China, and Taiwan.

Student Life

Many business student organizations exist including Beta Gamma Sigma, Davis Entrepreneurs Organization, Alpha Kappa Psi, the Dolphin Student Investment Fund, National Society for Leadership and Success, and JU Graduate Students. The Graduate Study Room is a unique advantage for graduate students to have a place of their own to study, relax, and work on projects. Alumni are encouraged to stay connected to former classmates and current students through the Alumni Mixers events. Due to the vast connections with the business community, there always seems to be an executive roaming around campus conducting presentations, workshops, and programs for students. The Davis Leadership Forum is an excellent resource for students and local business leaders to meet, discuss topics of interest, and learn from each other.

Online Programs

The Adult Degree Program provides part-time, accelerated classes for the working adult to work during the weekday and earn an education at night and on weekends. It is a hybrid program where the coursework is partially online and partially on campus. The Bachelor of Business Administration in Management can be obtained through the Adult Degree Program. The Part-time MBA is also conducted in the hybrid format. A Masters in Organizational Leadership can be obtained both as hybrid or fully online. The other 100% online degrees are the Master of Business Administration, Masters in Applied Business Analytics, and the Masters in Sport Management.
