Academic Programs

Simmons College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education and offers Bachelor’s Degrees, post-baccalaureate certificates, Master’s Degrees, post-masters Certificates and Doctorates in over 50 programs. Noted for their Nursing, Physical Therapy and Dietetics programs, the largest program on campus is Nursing. The school is comprised of 6 academic units: Undergraduate College; College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Studies; School of Library and Information Science; School of Nursing and Health Sciences; School of Management and School of Social Work. Per the Mission statement, “For more than 100 years, Simmons has put the needs of our students first. Through an education that combines intellectual leadership with professional preparation, we help students lead meaningful lives and build successful careers for the 21st Century. Student Life

There are over 1500 undergraduate students at Simmons College, most staying in one of the residence halls on the Residential Campus quad. There are several clubs and student organizations available. For the varsity athlete, the blue and yellow Sharks field teams in 10 sports and participate in NCAA Division III competition. Among the many traditions are the Simmons Soiree (a formal dance) and events of Shark Week (including a Shark (treasure) hunt, Blood Drive, Casino Night and Laser Tag).
