The New Mexico Scholars Program is offered by the New Mexico Higher Education Department to New Mexico residents who have graduated from a New Mexico high school and plan to attend a college/university in New Mexico as a full-time student. Eligible recipients must be less than 21 years old to eligible, with the award value that varies based on the tuition and expenses of the recipient of these New Mexico scholarships. Additionally, eligible recipients of the New Mexico Scholars Program must graduate among the top 5% of all graduating seniors and score at least an ACT score of 25, or a minimum SAT score of 1140.
