Education

When you step foot inside of a Foisie classroom, you will likely see students engaged in project-based learning that incorporates the latest technology, cross-curricular learning, and entrepreneurial thinking. Undergraduates can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, or Management Information Systems. Business students can customize their degree with a concentration in Financial Technology, Business Analytics, or Innovation for Social Change. All undergraduate courses are offered in an accelerated seven-week format, with students tackling real-world challenges in a team-based approach. Students frequent travel together to one of more than 50 global project centers spanning six continents. With careful planning, students can complete the BS/MS dual degree program in just four years!

Graduate students can dive into a vigorous Master of Science in Information Technology, Innovation with User Experience, Management, Marketing with Innovation, Operations Analytics and Management, or Supply Chain Management. Students in the Business Administration Ph.D. will select a concentration in either Information Technology or Operations Management.

Student Life

Worcester is a global leader in project-based learning. In 2017-2018, The Princeton Review ranked WPI among the Top 10 most popular study abroad programs. Business students have traveled to Shanghai to work on marketing projects and combined technology and business practices in Prague. Students also participate heavily in research from a first-year project to a major senior capstone project. All graduate students have the opportunity to present research posters during the annual Graduate Research Innovation Exchange. The top 60 students are selected to compete for cash prizes. Graduate students can also pitch their business ideas at the Investing in Ideas with Impact competition. There are 235 organizations on campus, with many appealing options to business students, such as the highly competitive Trustee Mentor program or the STARS program for graduate students to gain more exposure to the business community through networking events. Out of the Box is a unique organization combining outdoor activities like rafting or rock climbing with leadership lessons.

Online Programs

The hybrid Master of Business Administration is 48-credit hours, and students are expected to attend classes on campus twice per semester. The remaining coursework can be completed fully online. According to recent alumni surveys, 100% of online MBA students stated they achieved a career goal as a direct result of the program.
