The College of Business at Husson University began educating future business leaders back in 1898, making it “one of Maine’s oldest business schools.” With its rich history and years of experience, the IACBE-accredited CoB has earned a reputation of respect and excellence. Education
With committed, qualified, incredibly experienced faculty members who are highly involved in the community, students have a plethora of strong degree paths available. Undergraduates can obtain a Bachelors in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Paralegal Studies, Accounting, Business & Professional Studies, Forensic Science, Legal Studies Pre-Law, Sport Management, Business & Liberal Studies, Criminal Justice/Psychology, Integrated Technology, ROTC, or Accounting. There is also a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration for graduate students. MBA students can specialize in Data Analytics, Healthcare Management, Risk Management, Biotechnology & Innovation, General (Corporate MBA), Organizational Management, Athletic Administration, or Hospitality Management. Students are well prepared throughout their coursework to step into a CPA, CFP, or CMA certification exam right after they graduate.
There is plenty of financial aid to be found through merit scholarships like the President’s Academic Scholarship, Dean’s Leadership Scholarship, Husson Beacon Scholarship, and the Legacy Scholarship; need-based scholarships and grants; and numerous endowed scholarships.
Student Life
The Center for Student Success assists business students and provides academic resources, career path guidance, tutoring, writing assistance, services for international students, and EAGLE week. The life of a student encompasses everything from attending classes to how they fill their spare time. To partner with their academic advancement, students can participate in different leadership and community outreach experiential educational groups and activities that enhance their personal development. Organizations that exist for business students include ENACTUS, Hospitality Association, Accounting Society, Software Development Club, Criminal Justice Club, Legal Studies Organization, Forensic Science Club, Technology Club, and Sport Management Association.
There are honor societies for a student involved in criminal justice, accounting & business, paralegal & legal studies, hospitality management, or entrepreneurship. Business students can participate in and learn from several different CoB publications, which include the College of Business Newsletter, Business Law Review, Leaning Forward (School of Legal Studies) Newsletter, Adventures in Hospitality, and the Husson Stock Index. Another way to grow in knowledge and provide service to the community is through participating in the Husson University SIFE Micro-Lending Team.
Online Programs
People who need the flexibility, accessibility, and affordability that an online degree offers, can pursue several online business degrees from Husson. There is a Bachelors in Business Administration, Integrated Technology, or Business & Liberal Studies. Graduate students can benefit from the online Master of Business Administration degree with six of the specializations offered online.
