The AACSB-accredited College of Business at Bryant University believes an active and engaging learning environment is the key to the success of their students. Also taking a unique approach to business education, they require every business major to integrate their education with a liberal arts minor. This cross-disciplinary approach fosters adaptability and creativity. All of this is made possible in the high-caliber, newly designed, technology-driven Academic Innovation Center where importance is placed in teaching students to be innovative, forward-thinkers, problem-solvers, leaders, globally-minded, and team players. Business education has been a part of Bryant University from the beginning for over 150 years.
Undergraduate students can major in Accounting, Management, Advertising & Public Relations, Human Resource Management, Data Science, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Global Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, International Business, and Marketing. Graduate students can pursue a Master of Professional Accountancy, a one or two-year Master of Business Administration program, or a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics.
The professors mentor and work alongside students conducting research together in and outside of the classroom. There is also the Academic Center for Excellence, which provides peer tutors and specialists to help students with their classes through writing consultants, skills resources, and workshops.
Many scholarships are available for different levels of students, especially for new students and first-time freshmen. Work-study opportunities are also available where a student can work on campus part-time and receive money to pay for their schooling.
Many additional opportunities exist to offer active learning opportunities, like the Sophomore International Experience. This experience consists of one to two-weeks, semester-long, and one-year study trips that immerse students in a foreign country. Bryant Zhuhai is a partnership program where students study abroad in Guangdong Province, China and their students travel to Bryant University to study in the states. There is also the U.S.-China Institute housed at Bryant University where business students can learn about the Chinese culture from different Chinese universities and agencies. Other international trips include places like Botswana, Taiwan, France, Argentina, Bhutan, Chile, Turkey, Italy, Australia, and many more.
Business student organizations such as the Accounting Association, Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization, Enactus, Marketing Association, Smart Women in Finance, Society for Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Leadership Association, and the International Business Association help provide ways to network, build peer support, and service opportunities. The Amica Center for Career Education has career counselors, workshops, events, networking opportunities, internship connections, job shadowing, and anything students need to prepare for life after graduation.
To better develop analytical, research, collaborative, teamwork, presentation, and public speaking skills, the PwC Challenge gives students real-world business scenarios to solve. They can also apply their learning through many intercollegiate competitions. Faculty and students who have researched projects together get to show their work at the Research & Engagement Day every year.
Bryant University offers a fully online MBA degree in addition to its on-campus two-year and one-year programs. This program was launched in December 2018, and it is available to those with qualifying work experience. The school states that this degree is “Rhode Island’s first fully-online MBA from an AACSB-accredited institution.” The online MBA has the same world-class faculty and resources as the on-campus programs.
