Located three miles outside of the downtown area of San Antonio, Texas, Trinity University is a private liberal arts institution. Established in 1869 by Texas pioneers, Trinity’s name reflects its Christian origins and the three regional Cumberland Presbyterian governing bodies that supported its institutional organizations. Ranked the Best in the West by U.S. News & World Report for a quarter of a century, Trinity’s campus boasts extraordinary study and research resources, an exceptional library, and a state-of-the-art athletic and recreational center. Trinity is a member of the Annapolis Group, a consortium of national independent colleges with a shared commitment to liberal arts values and is also a member of the Associated Colleges of the South.

Academic Programs

Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Trinity’s curriculum is rigorous yet flexible and is enhanced by a wide range of interdisciplinary programs and special opportunities that are designed to provide students with real world experience and increase their international exposure and understanding of what it means to be a global citizen. Trinity offers over 45 undergraduate majors including Accounting; Biochemistry & Molecular Biology; Business Administration; Communication; Computer Science; Environmental Studies; International Studies; Mathematics; Political Science; Psychology; and Urban Studies. The university’s graduate programs include a Master of Arts in School Psychology; M.A. in Teaching; Master of Education in School Leadership; Master of Science in Accounting; and an M.S. in Health Care Administration.

Among Trinity’s academic resources are state-of-the-art teaching, researching, and learning facilities which students and faculty are encouraged to utilize to support their research and studies. Among these facilities, Trinity is home to Coates Library, one of the largest private libraries in the Southwest; the Center for Sciences & Innovation where science and engineering students have access to cutting-edge instrumentation; and the Ruth Taylor Fine Arts Center which is composed of three buildings featuring classrooms and practice studies, a recital hall, and art building.

Student Life

Trinity’s enrollment reaches over 2,500 students who hail from over 45 states and 40+ foreign countries. Faculty and students spend over 100,000 hours annually giving back to the community and the campus is known for its vibrant, active, and friendly atmosphere. Most students live in residence halls and wireless access is available across the campus. Over 220 clubs and organizations exist, offering a variety of options for student involvement and interaction. Over 55% of students compete in intramural sports and many more participate in club, intercollegiate and recreational sports. An NCAA Division-III school, Trinity offers athletic facilities for all sports ranging from football and basketball, to water polo and sand volleyball. Students also have access to weight rooms, tennis courts, and indoor and outdoor pools.

Trinity has number of traditions including the Tower Climb, when students climb Murchison Tower once during New Student Orientation and again at graduation; Signing the Honor Code; and Fountain Dunk for celebrating birthdays or other happy occasions. Among Trinity’s favorite annual events, the Chocolate Festival ranks high on the list, along with ‘Hallympics’, a Residential Life sponsored competition between residence halls, and Late Night Breakfast when pancakes are traditionally eaten at midnight during exam week.
