The College of William and Mary is located in Williamsburg, VA. Set on a beautiful 1200 acre campus, this 4-year public institution was founded in 1693 by letters issued by King William III and Queen Mary II, making the school the 2nd oldest institution of higher learning in the country. The campus, located adjacent to the Historic Williamsburg living history museum, is home to the oldest college building in the US, the Sir Christopher Wren Building. William and Mary is considered one of the original “Public Ivies” – public colleges whose educational programs rival that of the traditional private “Ivy League” schools in the Northeast. Many notable alumni have passed through the school including three US Presidents: Jefferson, Monroe and Tyler.
