The IACBE-accredited School of Business at St. Thomas Aquinas College implements an education filled with an understanding of the basics of business, the liberal arts, and professional development. It is built upon their four Foundational Cornerstones: Communication Skills, Study Beyond, Ethics, and Experiential Learning. Students are taught how to think critically, solve problems, collaborate with others, be socially responsible, and effectively impact the world around them.

Education

The undergraduate programs equip students for a variety of different business careers. Students can pursue a Bachelors in Finance, Management, Sport Management, Accounting, Hospitality Management, and Marketing. Many scholarships exist for undergraduate business students, including the Cardinal Digital Marketing Scholarship, Fundera Scholarship, and the Mercer Mettl Scholarship for Emerging Leaders. The Masters in Business Administration degree provides concentrations in Marketing, Finance, Sport Administration, General, and Management. This graduate program focuses on interactive projects, case studies, and group work. There is also an accelerated MBA option to complete in just a little over one year. MBA students can receive financial help through alumni discounts and employee tuition discounts.

A substantial educational resource is found in the esteemed Bloomberg Professional Laboratory, which allows students to experience a multitude of real-world scenarios, real-time data, news, economic situations, and financial markets. Study abroad gives business students the advantage of gaining a pertinent international perspective while earning their degrees. Business students can spend Spring Break in Japan, study business in Western Europe, participate in the exchange semester program at Kyung Hee University School of Management in South Korea, or take one or two-week trips to places like London, France, Nicaragua, and Italy.

Student Life

Engaging in student organizations is a highlight for business students. These groups provide opportunities to grow in leadership skills, networking, relationships, and community outreach. Clubs business students can benefit from include Alpha Phi Omega, Business Club, Ambassadors for Christ, Multicultural Student Association, Random Acts of Kindness!, Sports Management Club, and Lions Club.

Students are required to obtain 100 points to graduate with a business degree. These points come from Experiential Learning opportunities such as internships, independent study, and real-world experiences. Points can also be accumulated from Study Beyond experiences, which include Career Preparation activities such as workshops for resume writing, mock interviews, Dress for Success seminars, interview preparation, and career panels. Other Study Beyond activities include LEAD Student Development, the Sustainability Day Event, the Investment Club Stock Simulator Competition, the National Fair Trade Conference in Washington, D.C., and the Young Alumni Connection Reception. Students recently took third place at the intense IACBE Competition and competed in the Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition. Competing gives students quick ways to apply what they are learning in the classroom.

Online Programs

To provide the excellence found in STAC’s business program, they have created a virtual classroom open 24 hours a day, every day, so anyone, anywhere, at any time can obtain an online Masters in Business Administration degree. All five concentrations are available online.
