Coe College is a selective, private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts institution located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Historically affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), Coe College was established in 1851. One of the most selective institutions in the state of Iowa, Coe College has achieved national recognition. The College was named one of the “Best 381 Colleges” by The Princeton Review as well as among the “Peterson’s Guide to Selective Colleges” and one of “America’s Best Kept College Secrets”. Situated in the second largest city in Iowa and mere hours away from several major cities including Chicago, Minneapolis, Omaha, and St. Louis, Coe College’s location provides students with plenty of opportunity for academic and career growth as well as access to several cultural and recreational resources.

Coe College’s mission is to “provide students an education of superior quality that aims at preparing them for life following graduation.” The College’s mission statement continues, “Our reason to exist as an institution is to ready students intellectually, professionally, and socially to lead productive and satisfying lives in the global society of the 21st century.” A member of the distinguished Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM), Coe College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and has been so since 1913.Coe College offers a wide range of undergraduate programs which culminate in a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Music, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Every student at Coe participates in some type of hands-on learning, whether an internship, student research, practicum, or study abroad. Student Life
Coe College has a total enrollment figure of nearly 1,500, all of whom are undergraduate students. Coe College’s campus has doubled in size in recent years and features new apartment-style residential facilities as well as a renovated dining hall with multiple food stations. A residential college, Coe requires that all students live on campus during their entire four years. Coe College’s residence halls are arranged by class year and most first-year students live on a first-year floor and are within close proximity to the hall’s Resident Assistant.Coe College recognizes more than 80 different student clubs and organizations, ranging from intramurals to Artists Anonymous to Physics club. Nearly all students participate in some type of extracurricular activities which provide students with ample opportunity to interact with one another outside of the classroom and develop valuable leadership skills. An NCAA Division III school, Coe College varsity teams compete in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
