Claremont Graduate University is the only intensive research institution in the nation that focuses solely on graduate study. The Carnegie Commission on Higher Education classifies Claremont as R2: Doctoral Research University, Higher Research Activity. The Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management has helped ambitious students become influential leaders since 1971. The school was named after Peter Drucker, commonly referred to as the father of modern management. Drucker students have ample cross-disciplinary research opportunities and practical experience with highly selective enrollment, and a 15:1 student-to-faculty ratio. The prestigious AACSB accreditation is a symbol to employers that Drucker graduates are prepared to succeed in the real world. Alumni have assumed positions such as Senior Director of Marketing at Mattel, President of Westmont College, and CFO of TOMS.
Education
The degrees offered at Drucker allow students to let their creativity shine across some unique business disciplines. Students can earn an MBA or Executive MBA, or a specialty master’s degree in Art Business, Arts Management, Finance, Financial Engineering, Marketing Analytics, Management, or Advanced Management. The Executive MBA is an all-inclusive program catering to the needs of working professionals by offering executive coaching, meals, and short-term immersion residencies in Silicon Valley and internationally. MBA students create their unique journey by selecting a concentration in Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resources Management, Information Technology Management, Leadership, Marketing, Strategy, or Supply Chain Management. Art Business students can combine their degree with Fine Art, Information Systems and Technology, or Business Administration. MBA students can earn a dual degree in Law, Innovation Systems Design, Information Systems and Technology, Public Health, Political Science, or Bioscience. Management students can earn a joint degree in Information Systems and Technology, and an additional dual degree is available in Financial Engineering/Mathematics.
Drucker Management Certificates are also available for students interested in Analysis and Decision Making, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and People and Strategy. The Executive Certificate Program features options in General Management, Leadership, or Strategy.
Student Life
With a wide array of extracurricular activities, students can graduate with an impressive resume. Students have the opportunity to graduate with an enhanced global perspective by spending a semester studying abroad in the Netherlands, Japan, Argentina, or Switzerland. Competitive students can test their business acumen in the ACG Cup or the Kravis Concept Plan Competition for aspiring entrepreneurs. Business organizations include the Claremont Global Family Business Student Advisory Club, Drucker Net Impact, Finance Club, Marketing Club, Supply Chain Management Association, or the Venture Capital Club.
There are also several services available on campus through the Career Development Office, Digital Learning Lab, and the Preparing Future Faculty Program to ensure graduates make the transition from student to employee smoothly. The Career Development Office has highly trained specialists who offer one-on-one career counseling, job search strategies, and career workshops. The Digital Learning Lab allows students to master technology utilized in the workplace through software workshops. Students who are interested in teaching at the college level can develop their portfolio, create a syllabus, and get hands-on practice through practicums in the Preparing Future Faculty Program.
