AWS Airgas Terry Jarvis Memorial Scholarship
The AWS Airgas Terry Jarvis Memorial Scholarship lends financial assistance to students interested in welding engineering who are pursuing a four-year degree. Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. They must be a full-time student with a 2.8 overall GPA and a 3.0 in engineering coursework. Applicants must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen and be a resident of Georgia. Applicants may reapply and be granted a scholarship for four years.
Provided by the American Welding Society, this scholarship is named after employee Terry Jarvis who worked for Airgas South for eleven years and died at age 39. One of the scholarships for colleges in Georgia, the award is $2,500 annually.

Charles Harbin III Memorial Scholarship
The Charles Harbin III Memorial Scholarship (CJH3) provides financial assistance to students in need who have aspirations of seeking higher education. Applicants must be a high school senior preparing to enter an accredited U.S. college or university in any field of study. They are only awarded to those seeking their first bachelor’s degree. Students must be a resident of Georgia, demonstrate financial need, and have a 2.75 GPA. The application process includes a 500-word essay, 500-word original short story, letter of recommendation, copy of transcript and FAFSA SAR, and acceptance letter from two- or four-year institution. Deadline for the scholarship application is April 22.
The scholarship ranges from $1,000 to $1,500 annual, with ½ at the beginning of the year and the other half at the midpoint of the year. The scholarship is applied to tuition and fees only and paid directly to the institution.

Greenhouse Scholars Program
The Greenhouse Scholars Program is one of the scholarships in Georgia designed to assist students who need financial assistance to raise the bar in their educational pursuits, giving them an opportunity to compete with other students to foster generational change in low-income communities. To qualify, students must be a high school senior in good standing to graduate and planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning; be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of Georgia; have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or better; demonstrate financial need and have leadership, a thirst for learning and the will to move beyond their circumstances.
There are three rounds to the application process that consists of the application, due August 15 on a rolling basis through November 22; Part Two, which continues if Part One is approved. This begins October 1 through December 2. Round Three occurs by February 17. Finalists are asked to submit interview schedules, college acceptance status and a headshot photo. If additional material is requested, the deadline is February 26. Students are notified in April if accepted. Scholarships range from $2,000 to $20,000.

Ty Cobb Educational Foundation Scholarships
The Ty Cobb Educational Foundation scholarship is open to residents of Georgia who are U.S. citizens with 30 or 45 hours of academic credit at a institution of higher learning. Applicants must have a demonstrated financial need with a “B” or better average. Additionally, applicants must attend an accredited institution recognized by the Council of Higher Education. Professional students pursuing their MD/DO or DMD/DDS degrees with financial need are also eligible to apply.
The Foundation was designed to assist students who are capable and deserving of a chance to pursue a higher education. As a baseball player, Ty Cobb only made $40,000 annually, but he invested well – one of those investments being Coca-Cola. His wise choices have provided scholarships for Georgia colleges and students for many years.
Interested applicants must submit a completed application form, including a section on why they are applying for the financial assistance; a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, academic dean or advisor; official transcripts of all college studies; the most recent tax return of parents or student; and a completed FAFSA SAR. Scholarship amounts vary. Students are welcome to complete a renewal application each year. Deadline to receive applications is March 1.

Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarship
The Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarship benefits students in need in Georgia. High school or undergraduate students are eligible if planning or attending a four-year, accredited, non-profit college. The online application is the first step, and verification is the second step. Applicants must be prepared to submit letters of recommendation and a transcript. Students awarded may apply for renewal.
Distributed by the Watson-Brown Foundation, its purpose has always been to provide college opportunities for underprivileged boys and girls. To qualify for this scholarship, the student must have a parent or guardian currently living in Georgia and a resident for at least one year; the student enrolled in a K-12 Georgia public school program and completed the previous school year; was documented as having attended a Georgia public school by a school district during the quarterly mandatory student counts; and received special education services through an IEP during the year.
If the student meets all eligible criteria, the parent or guardian can request a transfer from the current public school to another public school within their district; another public school outside of their district; one of the three state schools for the blind or deaf; or a private school authorized to participate in the GSNS program. The program only pays for tuition and fees at a private school authorized by the State Board of Education. These scholarship funds can’t be used for tuition outside of the district, any charter schools or any other alternative options falling under public school choice programs.
