
Virginia University of Lynchburg (VUL) is a private, historically black university that has been educating students since 1886. A pioneer in the field of African American Education, the University offers instruction primarily in religious studies with several options for online and distance learning. Programs ranging from a Certificate of Ministry in Church Leadership through a Master of Divinity are offered, as well as programs in the areas of religious studies, business administration, and organizational management. Students may also be eligible to receive credit for prior military training and experience as well as credits based on technical training, professional certifications, national examinations, and other college-level learning. Embracing a spirit of lifelong learning, VUL’s mission is to provide a solid Liberal Arts and Christian Education program for all students.
