The Centre for Extended Learning (CEL) is the online division of the University of Waterloo. The Centre has operated for over fifty years, extending Waterloo’s educational opportunities to the world. CEL’s mission is to offer “high quality, extended learning opportunities to diverse learners” and to help in the development of courses that are engaging, innovative, and academically rigorous. With this as its foundation, CEL supports the design, development, and delivery of the University of Waterloo’s online credit and non-credit courses. The University offers hundreds of online courses in dozens of subjects including undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as undergraduate certificates and specializations. CEL also offers many professional development opportunities in several areas including business, leadership, project management, customer service, technology, and communication.
