The department of Online & Special Programs administers distance education at the University of Houston. UH has been a leader in distance education since 1953 when the school-sponsored television station broadcast educational programming. Today the school offers a wide variety of programs in multiple fields through current technology. Online bachelor’s degree programs available include nursing, psychology and retailing and consumer sciences.
