Prince George’s Community College offers a number of online programs through its eLearning Services department. A two-year, public institution of higher education, the College’s eLearning department exists to assist both students and faculty in “all aspects of Blackboard support and providing services that promote student and faculty success in the online learning environment.” With over 300 online and hybrid/online credit courses, the College offers a number of fully online degree options as well as multiple certificates and noncredit continuing education programs. While accelerated online courses are available, most courses follow a regular semester academic schedule and last a full semester. The same instructors that teach on campus also guide the online courses, handing out weekly assignments and deadlines that may be completed at the student’s convenience during the week.
