The Minneapolis College of Art and Design offers a menu of courses online to permit students with schedule challenges of geographic obstacles the opportunity to earn a higher degree in the field of art and design. Most courses are asynchronous, allowing ultimate schedule flexibility; instead, courses are project-based with set deadlines for submission of work. Individual courses will schedule designated meeting times for interaction, demonstrations, projects and critiques. MCAD offers online master’s degree programs in graphic and web design and sustainable design; additionally, several other programs offer some courses online as well. Online students may have partial access to the MCAD facilities and services; available support and resources available include counseling services, studio resources, student advising, learning center and library, media center and the career development office.
