Leeward Community College offers online learning through the distance education department. Promoting flexibility, convenience and no requirement for campus attendance, associate’s degrees and certificate programs are available to enhance or advance the careers of busy professionals. Starting with a self-assessment survey to determine the suitability of online education, the webpage offers much information for the prospective student to help them choose a path toward a degree. Links to online learning orientation, resources including course listings, help desk, counseling, library, disability services and an FAQ page offer direct support. Resources including distance learning guides and articles discussing elements of success for online education are provided. Associate degree programs are offered in accounting and teaching; there are many certificate programs online as well. Leeward Community College also has transfer agreements within the University of Hawaii system.
