Education
Business programs offered through the Gore School of Business hold accreditation with the ACBSP. Undergraduate degrees cover a variety of topics such as Aviation Management, International Management, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship. Students who are completing a non-business major have an opportunity to minor in business. This set of courses creates a basic understanding of finance, marketing, management, and economics. On-campus master’s degrees include Master’s of Accountancy, MBA, or Master’s of Business Administration in Technology Commercialization. A project-based MBA can also be completed in a 100% distance format.
Student Life
Westminster College is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The campus is just minutes from the local Watash Mountains, making it a great location for exceptional rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, and more. The Outdoor Program helps students develop technical skills, character traits, self-awareness, leadership skills, and good stewardship through meaningful outdoor experiences.
While business majors’ may not spend their days on the trail after graduation, the skills learned within this type of program are highly applicable for collaboration in any career field. The ASW student government is very active on-campus and plans many events ranging from quiet get-togethers to concerts and casino nights. The Fitness, Wellness, and Recreation Department at Westminster seeks to help students improve their overall well-being through a variety of wellness-based activities such as group exercise classes, cooking classes, yoga, and even trips to local farmers markets.
Online Programs
The Gore School of Business includes a unique project-based online Master’s of Business Administration. Participants of the program complete cross-disciplinary projects as a replacement of traditional courses and have the ability to move at their own speed throughout each semester. Over a period of 18-24 months, students will work on 25 different projects. Each project represents a skill that business executives use on a daily basis. Examples of project topics include external firm analysis, balanced scorecard, process review and revision, industry financial analysis, and segmenting and targeting markets.
Undergraduate students can also earn their degree in a project-based format through the distance Bachelor’s of Business Administration. The comprehensive curriculum is geared towards working professionals and acknowledges that those in the workforce have experience that is relevant to their academic success. Ideal candidates for this program have at least six years of work experience and an associate’s degree. Or those eligible to begin studies through the College’s partner institution, Salt Lake Community College.
