Departments within the College include the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Business and Economics. Its economic and business degrees meet the high standards of ACBSP accreditation. The College currently provides degrees in Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Masters in Public Administration. Curriculum writers within the school are continually working on new program offerings. Students in the business program have the option to pursue emphases in Accounting, Agricultural Economics, Management Information Systems, Agribusiness, Economics, Management, Finance, International Business, and Marketing.

West Virginia State University’s Bachelor of Arts program allows students to seek majors and minors in Economics, Sociology & Philosophy, History, Political Science, and Psychology. Student Life

WVSU students have a lot to love about their university. Besides the many opportunities to grow and learn, there is a faculty and staff who support them on their educational journey to a successful future. There are many student organizations and clubs to consider at the school. The University’s campus is just a few miles from the capital of West Virginia, Charleston. It is within driving distance from major metropolitan areas in five bordering states. Over 3,600 students attend the University, and there is a student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1. The school was established in 1891 as a Historically Black College. It has evolved to serve a richly diverse population.
