WVSU students have a lot to love about their university. It is within driving distance from major metropolitan areas in five bordering states. Over 3,600 students attend the University, and there is a student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1. The school was established in 1891 as a Historically Black College. It has evolved to serve a richly diverse population.
