Wayland Baptist University’s School of Business is all about prioritizing every student’s instruction and education. It is faith-based and believes in viewing business theory and practice through a Christian perspective. Faculty members are highly qualified to prepare students for the rigorous and modern world of business. Students develop useful leadership abilities, an in-depth business knowledge, critical thinking skills, and hands-on experience while learning to value ethical principles, respect, effectiveness, confidence, and passion for learning, serving, and affecting change in the community.
Education
Wayland business students have access to scholarships specific to business majors. Students with financial need, have accomplished academic excellence, or possess proven leadership qualities can apply. Once students are accepted into the School of Business, they get to join a supportive community and pursue one of a variety of business degree programs.
Undergraduate students pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Business Administration, or a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. The BBA offers specializations in Economics/Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Cyber Security, Management/Marketing, International Management, Management Information Systems, and Sports Management. BAS students pursue a specialization in General Business, Banking & Finance, Human Resources Management, Management, Healthcare Administration, Management Information Systems, and Cyber Security.
On-campus graduate studies consist of a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Management. MBA students specialize in General Business, Human Resources Management, Accounting, Health Care Management, International Management, Project Management, Management, or Management Information Systems. MIM students can specialize in Human Resources Management, Organization Management, or Healthcare Administration.
Through the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities, Wayland business students can experience study abroad programs to gain international educational experience while sharing their faith. Students can spend a semester in Australia, Northern Ireland, Oxford, Uganda, or the Middle East.
Student Life
Many opportunities exist for students to find community, get involved, engage with peers, find community, grow in their faith, and continue to learn outside the classroom. There are many campus events and activities, including movie nights, plays, concerts, Esports teams, and intramural leagues. Student organizations include Baptist Student Ministries, Catholic Student Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, ENACTUS, President’s Ambassadors, Society of Human Resource Management, Wayland Singers, Black Student Association, Bowling Club, and Alpha Delta Kappa.
Business students are highly encouraged to complete a paid summer internship before graduation. There are connections for students to intern locally, nationally, and internationally. Internships are very impressive on resumes, provide real-world experience, help students build a professional network, and even lead to future employment.
Online Programs
WBUonline provides many online degree programs. Undergraduates can access an online Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration; BBA in Cyber Security, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, and Management/Marketing; and all of the Bachelor of Applied Science degrees that are also offered on-campus.
Graduate students can obtain an online Masters in Management, Organizational Leadership, and Business Administration. Doctoral students have an online Doctor of Management degree program.
