The College of Business & Public Service at Vincennes University provides “focused quality education.” It is one of six colleges within the University and produces a vast array of educational programs in Business, Law & Safety, and Information Technology. The affordable one-two-year business programs are ACBSP-accredited and comprised of a rigorous curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities. It also lays a foundation for future success in further education, career aspirations, and life goals. The educational environment supports diversity, preparedness, commitment, excellence, open dialogue, cultural enrichment. 

Education

Students receive a broad foundational business education and are prepared to learn a more specialized area of study in future degree pursuits. The stackable degree programs within the Business Management & Administration department offer a variety of options. Those who complete an Associate of Science Transfer in Business Administration or Supply Chain Logistics Management will then transfer to a four-year university. The Associate of Science Career/Tech degrees in Cosmetology, General Studies – Business Studies, and Business Management with an optional concentration in Finances, prepares graduates for entry-level employment. Anyone that has completed one of the Associates in Business Administration/Management degrees is qualified to pursue the Bachelors in Technology with a Business Administration/Management Concentration.    

There are two types of Certificate Programs offered by the College. A Certificate of Program Completion in Business Management Direct Supervision, Sales Training, Accounting, or Entrepreneurship qualify students as a ‘first-level supervisor,’ to advance in their current position or continue into a Certificate of Graduation program. Certificates of Graduation are available in Business Management Direct Supervision, Accounting, and Defense Finance & Accounting Services. 

The Vincennes University Foundation awards over $1 million in financial assistance through grants and scholarships for all qualifying students. Scholarships specifically for business students include the Old National Bank Business Scholarship, the ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) Scholarship, and the Brunswick Scholarship. 

Student Life

The best way to get involved outside of class is through participation in one of many student organizations. Some of the clubs are the ABG Business, Campus Gaming, Campus Activities Board, Dance Team, International Student Organization, Student African American Sisterhood, and Student Government Association. To accommodate the academic learning, the Business Department provides numerous hands-on learning opportunities and as much real-world experience as possible. 

The Center for Career and Employer Relations provides excellent resources and connections for students to discover, prepare for, and enter a career. It offers strengths tests, interview prep, career assessment, workshops, and internship/job fairs. The Blazer Careerlink online system is packed with available part-time jobs, internships, and career postings from Indiana all the way overseas and everywhere in between. 

Online Programs

The on-campus programs that are also available entirely online include an Associate of Science Transfer in Business Administration or Supply Chain Logistics Management, an Associate of Science Career/Tech in General Studies – Business Studies, and a Certificate of Program Completion in Entrepreneurship. Available only online is a Certificate of Program Completion in Supply Chain & Logistics. The concentration in Finances can also be completed online.
