Valdosta State University’s Langdale College of Business Administration will help students transform their future business goals into realities through the highly esteemed AACSB accredited programs. Students have the opportunity to trade real money in the Southeastern Federal Credit Union Financial Trading Center and start real businesses. The Langdale COBA consists of seven departments; Accounting, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, International Business, Management, and Marketing.

Education

Students can prepare for a variety of business careers through the Bachelor’s in Business Administration program. BBA students can choose a major in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, International Business, Management, or Marketing. Minors available to BBA students include Advertising and Promotions, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management. Undergraduate students can also earn an Internal Audit Certificate. Graduate degrees offered include a Master’s of Accountancy and a Master’s of Business Administration.

Student Life

There are 10 different business organizations on campus for students to expand their business experiences in a less formal learning environment than the classroom. Some of the organizations offered include Beta Gamma Sigma, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Enactus, and the Valdosta State University Investment Group. The Enactus club is very active within the community and hosts an after-school mentorship program for students five to fifteen years old. The Career Strategies Center partners with local businesses to help place students in internships, and hosts the annual Taking Care of Business Career Fair. The Center for Business and Economic Research provides consulting services and training programs to regional businesses. Students are able to conduct research and apply their business knowledge to help solve real challenges.

Students can also participate in several study abroad trips to earn class credits during school breaks. On a previous trip, students visited top corporations in Hong Kong such as JP Morgan, Disney, 21st Century Fox, Uber, and others. In Germany, students toured BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Hewlett Packard. Italy is a culinary tour of companies that produce cheese, pasta, and confectionary, as well as trips to some of the most elite designer labels. Students can complete their foreign language requirement while enjoying the beautiful country of Spain.

Online Programs

Students needing a more flexible schedule can earn a BBA in Management, Georgia WEBMBA, or an MBA in Healthcare Administration completely online. The Georgia online MBA is ranked among the top online MBA programs offered through regional universities according to U.S. News and World Report. Additionally, this program is listed as a top contender amongst Online MBA degrees by Business Week Online. Students in the online MBA program will attend a two-day orientation residency in Atlanta. The remaining classes are taught 100% online by professors from five AACSB accredited University System of Georgia institutions. This fast-paced program can be completed in only a year and a half.
