The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is the largest AACSB school in the state. COBE is comprised of eight departments; Accounting, Economics, Finance and Business Law, Information Technology and Supply Chain Management, Management, Marketing, and Occupational and Environment Safety and Health. These functional business areas are highly desired by employers, and 99% of graduates are employed within six months.

Education

Undergraduate students have the ability to earn a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, Accounting, General Management, Human Resource Management, Integrated Science and Business, International Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or Supply Chain and Operations Management. Another undergraduate option is the Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Safety.

Graduate students can earn a Master’s of Professional Accountancy, which prepares students to sit for the CPA exam. There are also three Master’s of Science degrees offered; Environmental Safety and Health, Education in School Business Management, and Finance. A highly acclaimed Master’s of Business Administration attracts many students to COBE. Emphasis areas for the MBA include Accounting, Data Analytics, Environmental Safety and Health, Finance, Human Resources Management, International Business, Information Technology Management, Marketing, Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or students can even create a customized course of study. A Doctorate of Business Administration is offered for students interested in pursuing research or teaching. Students in this program will attend one residency weekend per month for two years, and spend the final year of the program working on their dissertation.

Student Life

Study abroad candidates may choose from over 50 countries, with programs ranging from one week up to one semester in duration. The campus awards $500 scholarships for students who wish to participate in short term international experiences, and $1,000 for those studying abroad for a full semester. The multicultural business program supports minority students through scholarships, internships, business field trips, and professional development seminars with minority business executives. Incoming freshman in this program are invited to attend the Summer Business Institute, a one-week program to help students transition to college life. Some of the most popular organizations within COBE are Beta Gamma Sigma, Golden Key International Honor Society, International Business Club, Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and the Whitewater Water Council. There are also a large number of student clubs offered within each individual business department. Students can also contact their business department to learn more information about available internship opportunities.

Online Programs

The online Bachelor’s of Business Administration is ranked 42nd, and the online MBA is ranked 21st by U.S. News and World Report. UWW’s BBA programs for Economics, Finance, General Business, General Management, and Marketing are offered 100% online. All MBA emphasis areas are available online. Online graduate certificates are also available for Business Foundations, Business Data Analytics, Human Resource Management, Project Management, and School Business Management.
