The University of Wisconsin-Madison is well known and frequently recognized around the nation for its high-quality business programs. The University itself has much to offer, but the Wisconsin School of Business includes comprehensive resources to ensure student success. The School has more than 600 corporate partners ranging from Fortune 500 companies to top entrepreneurial firms. The business programs also carry elite accreditation through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction held by an impressive 5% of business schools worldwide.

Education

The Wisconsin School of Business’ undergraduate BBA gives students ten majors to choose from in top fields like Operations and Technology Management, Real Estate, Actuarial Science, and International Business. Before students complete courses towards their major, they receive a well-rounded business foundation through classes like Operations Management, Managing Organizations, Introduction to Finance, and Business Law.

Nearly 40% of BBA students extend their learning through Study Abroad programs. UW-Madison has partnerships with more than 35 of the top business study abroad programs in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Several of the locations frequently traveled to are France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Hong Kong.

Graduate degrees are available in Master’s of Business Administration, Master’s of Accounting, or Master’s of Arts in Creative Enterprise Leadership. There are also Master’s of Science with options in Business Analytics, Finance, Real Estate, and Supply Chain Management. The MBA programs are offered in three formats, including Full-Time, Evening, and Executive. All three MBA options combine Leadership Development, Global Experiences, Entrepreneurship, and Community Engagement to build a well-rounded portfolio fit for any career goal. The Executive MBA is designed for professionals with plans to advance their careers. Students move through their degree in a cohort format, which gives networking opportunities, as well as the ability to learn from one another’s unique skill sets.

Student Life

There are many activities, clubs, and resources, specifically for business students at UW-Madison. In fact, there are over 40 student-led clubs in the Wisconsin School of Business alone. These clubs are industry-specific and offer networking and support on such topics as ethical and responsible business, real estate, or capital management. There are even business fraternities and clubs based on identities like Women in Business, Multicultural Business Association, and the National Association of Black Accountants. The Accenture Leadership Center is an in-house leadership center that allows the business programs to grow students’ academic and leadership skills simultaneously. This center provides a variety of services like case competitions, speaker series, classes, and professional development workshops.

There are 11 unique Learning Community opportunities for students who choose to live on-campus. There are a few communities that may be of interest to business students. The Startup group focuses on innovative teamwork, thinking, and planning. The Multicultural Learning Community explores the issues of human diversity. And Business Connect, which is a community-specific to the School of Business.
