Other institutions business students can join in on are in Switzerland, South Korea, Japan, and Australia.

Student Life

An essential part of the educational experience is hands-on learning and leadership, service, and professional development. Students experience all of this through internship and job shadowing opportunities, consulting projects, real-world service-learning experiences, interactive guest speaker programs, competitive award events, fundraising projects, career-related workshops, and community service activities. A great way to enhance leadership skills and serve others is through a variety of active student organizations and honor societies. Business-specific groups include the Finance Club, Toastmasters, Accounting Club, Marketing Club, ENACTUS, and Delta Mu Delta Honor Society.

Experiential learning and service opportunities exist through the Center for Business & Entrepreneurship and the Small Business Development Center. The CBE provides services and resources to equip local entrepreneurs with the tools and the know-how to succeed in their new business ventures or their expansion. It also focuses on projects that will increase opportunity through “community, economic, and workforce development.” The SBDC focuses on helping expand the economic welfare of the western region of Alabama. It supports local entrepreneurs through educational programs and free consultations in financial analysis, marketing plan, business plan development, research assistance, licensing, management consulting, and operational planning.
