The University of Toledo’s College of Business and Innovation is held in high regard by top-ranking companies like U.S. News and World Report, Eduniversal, and the Princeton Review. Almost 90% of UToledo business students participate in internships with local businesses and companies. Students also have an opportunity to manage a $2 million investment fund for the UToledo Foundation through live and delayed feeds in the impressive John B. and Lillian E. Neff Trading Room. Those who plan to continue their studies can take part in the National Student Exchange Program. This program is an affordable way to study abroad for a semester or a year, with nearly 200 member universities in Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, the United States, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Education

The College of Business and Innovation’s mission is to “provide innovative and relevant learning experiences and engage in high-quality research and teaching to prepare students to become life-long, ethical business and academic leaders who are prepared for global challenges.” This mission is a foundational building block for all business programs at the University of Toledo. Business degrees are offered from the associate’s level up to Ph.D. Experiential learning is built into the curriculum through internships, capstone projects, externships, and research projects. The COBI also provides dress for success seminars, resume critique seminars, mock-interviews with employers, and etiquette dinners. These resources are put into action during job fairs that give graduates face to face interactions with over 100 employers.

The Bachelor’s of Business Administration has over ten majors with choices in high-demand fields such as Accounting, Digital Marketing, Financial Services, Human Resource Management, and International Business. Graduate offerings include Professional MBA, Executive MBA, Executive Master’s of Sales Leadership, or Master’s of Science in Accountancy and Master’s of Science in Applied Business Analytics. Students enrolled in the Professional MBA take classes on-site in the Savage & Associates Complex for Business Learning and Engagement, which includes state-of-the-art networked classrooms, a graduate student lounge, specialized conference rooms, and breakout rooms for study groups. The EMBA is primarily a distance learning program with only a requirement of one weekend per month during the 12-month program.

Student Life

The UToledo campus features an expansive Student Recreation Center, nine residence halls, an athletic complex, as well as, modern classrooms. The Student Recreation Center includes three pools, a hot tub, space for competitive sports, personal training, and group exercise classes. There are over 400 student organizations to participate in. A few of these that may be relevant to business majors include Alpha Kappa Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Business Law Society, or Creators Club.

Online Programs

Working professionals can easily begin meeting their educational goals with online associate’s degrees in Accounting Technology, Business Administration, Business Management Technology, Computer Network Administration, and more. Seven workplace certificates can be complete through the distance platform as well.
