The Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership is named after “an innovative business leader and founding member of Steel Dynamics, one of the nation’s largest producers of carbon steel.” Keith Busse is an alum and Trustee of USF and chose “Entrepreneurial Leadership” as the Business School’s distinctive focus. Busse knows from experience that business professionals who possess entrepreneurial thinking add great value to their profession.

As a business school accredited by the ACBSP, Keith Busse School of Business proclaims to challenge, inspire, and mentor students to become “outstanding and entrepreneurial business professionals.” The school of business at USF gives students many direct experiences so that they can be a top competitor in their field by the time they reach graduation.

Education

The Keith Busse College of Business offers bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Marketing and Risk Management, and Insurance. Busse Business College also offers an amazing program for undergrads called EPIC or Experiential Program with Integrated Cooperatives. This selective program allows business students who qualify to participate in a two-year direct professional experience and mentorship in the field. Students are paid for their work and also earn classroom credit hours while building a relationship with an executive mentor.

The Busse College of Business also offers online master’s degrees in Business Administration, Business Administration in Sustainability, Healthcare Administration, and Organizational Leadership.

Student Life

USF had a state-of-the-art Business Center in the heart of Fort Wayne’s downtown business community available for its business students. The historic Chamber of Commerce building has been updated with the latest technology and includes a finance lab, collaborative learning spaces, computer work stations, and the Cougar Café.

Online Programs

USF offers a unique online degree completion program for students who have started but never completed a college degree. Students can work to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Business in as few as 21 months. At least 24 credits are required to start this program but may transfer up to 90; the more credits, the sooner you can graduate. The courses for this program are 100% online, and USF offers six different start dates throughout the year with courses broken up into eight-week sessions. With your BA degree, you will be prepared for a potential career as an accountant/auditor, budget analyst, compensation specialist, financial analyst, or labor relations specialist.

If it’s an online master’s program you are looking for, USF offers four different degrees within the Busse Business School: Business Administration, Business Administration in Sustainability, Healthcare Administration, and Organizational Leadership. Each can be finished in as few as 12 months. Like USF’s other online programs, these master’s programs are designed to help you balance school and life with six start dates during the year and short eight-week sessions. Full-time students taking two classes at a time with typically graduate in 12 months and part-time students taking one class at a time will graduate in 24 months.
