For over 135 years, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania has been the place where visionaries, trailblazers, and inventors get their start in business leadership. American industrialist and entrepreneur Joseph Wharton established the world’s first collegiate school of business in 1881 at the University of Pennsylvania. The founding was a radical idea that revolutionized both higher education and business practice.

Since that time, the Wharton School has continued to be on the cutting edge of business training to meet the ever-increasing global demand for transformative leadership, new ideas, and deeper insights. The business school knows a thing or two about blazing trails, from building the country’s first collegiate center for entrepreneurship in 1973 to the university’s latest research centers in neuroscience and alternative investments, Wharton is the place where business is done.
