The School of Business at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul not only prepares graduates to be successful professional business leaders, but equips them with a biblical worldview to love others, honor God, and share the gospel of Christ. Throughout their time in business school, students acquire integrity, a moral and ethical perspective, functional stewardship abilities, and leadership skills. Students learn from a quantitative approach while receiving hands-on training and practical experience that utilizes the latest technology and professional software like Microsoft Office Suite. The SoB attracts high-quality, academically-excellent students ready to dive into rigorous academic programs, committed to serving God, and desire to make a positive impact on the world.

Education

Business students glean from their professors’ range of expertise, including entrepreneurs, CPAs, COOs, Senior Software Engineers, and CEOs. The dedicated and expert faculty teach a variety of classes for degrees in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering Management, Accounting, Marketing, and International Business. To save money and time, students can pursue a dual Bachelor and MBA degree.

Both the Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Organizational Leadership are offered in a blended format, combining on-campus and online coursework. The MBA offers concentrations in Finance, Data Analytics, and Management. After five courses within the Masters in Organizational Leadership degree, students can earn a Graduate Certificate in Leadership, which can also be pursued by other students separately.

The University’s Center for Global Programs provides massive opportunities for business students to get out of their comfort zone and participate in a study abroad trip. Students explore international business, complete coursework, and even intern in places like Spain, South Korea, Italy, Northern Ireland, Uganda, Australia, China, Jordan, and England.

Student Life

Outside of the classroom, students experience a wealth of opportunities to learn, grow personally and professionally, and build peer and professional relationships. One avenue is through the student groups like the Accounting Club, the Fellowship of Reconciling Cultures Everywhere, the Student Business Board, and Women in Leadership. Another channel is through the Mentorship Program. Business students partner with alumni who helps them develop valuable skills, meet other professionals, and grow professionally and spiritually.

Another great asset is the connections and partnerships the professors and the University have with top global corporations located nearby in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Students interact with leaders from Best Buy, Medtronic, 3M, and General Mills, to name a few. Practical experience can be gained through required internships with these Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and even startup organizations.

To deepen their faith and service opportunities, business students complete the Spiritual Development Credit. This involves participation in worship nights, daily chapel, bible studies, prayer events, and local community service projects.

Online Programs

Along with the blended format, the SoB’s MBA program is also offered entirely online with its concentration options and can be completed in just 24 months. There is also a fully online Masters in Organizational Leadership and Graduate Certificate in Leadership. A Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics is available only online.
