The University of New Orlean’s College of Business Administration holds prestigious dual AACSB accreditation in business and accounting and is the largest college of business in the state of Louisiana. Students learn in state-of-the-art facilities, which incorporate hands-on learning directly into their learning spaces. For example, students in the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism program have access to a dining room, commercial kitchen, and demonstration lab classroom. Other experiential learning spaces include the AT&T Entrepreneurship Center, the Center for Economic Development, the Institute of Real Estate Research, the Division of Business & Economic Research, and the Hospitality Research Center. The Business Career Coaching Center provides individual coaching sessions on utilizing social media to create a self-brand, networking skills, mock interviews, and wardrobe consultation.

Education

The College of Business Administration features a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Management, Management, Marketing, and Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration. Students working on their graduate degree can earn a Master’s of Science in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Management, Tax Accounting, Hospitality & Tourism Management, or a Master of Business Administration. The Traditional MBA can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis. Students can select an optional concentration in Finance, Health Care Management, Hotel-Restaurant-Tourism, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management Information Systems, Marketing, or Technology Management. Doctoral students may pursue a Ph.D. in Financial Economics. This program includes seminars in Financial Institutions, Investments, and Corporate Finance. Professional certificates are also available in Design & Operation of High Performing Organizations for Leaders, Human Capital Management, International Trade, and Internal Auditing. Students from a non-accounting background who are interested in taking the CPA may complete the Pre-CPA program, which consists of 27 hours of accounting courses and 24 hours of additional business courses to prepare them to sit for the exam.

Student Life

With over 25 business honor societies and student organizations, there’s a club sure to meet your interests. Some of the clubs associated with majors include the Accounting Association, American Marketing Association, Louisiana Restaurant Association, and the Travel and Tourism Association. Graduate students are invited to join the MBA Association, and alumni can stay involved through networking events with the MBA Alumni Association. Students can also find internship opportunities through the Link the Internship to Future Employment, or L.I.F.E. program.

Online Programs

The MBA and Master of Science in Healthcare Management are both offered in an Executive format. The Executive format is designed for busy professionals and allows them to maximize their time by attending classes every other weekend for 16 months. Another perk of this program is staff are responsible for registering students for classes, purchasing textbooks, and catering meals just like your assistant at the office. Additionally, several online certificates are offered including Leadership and Team Management, Digital Marketing, Agile Application Development, and workshops such as Introduction to Lean Management, Emotional Intelligence and Commitment, and Introduction to Agile Management. These programs can teach you valuable skills that can immediately be applied on the job, added to your resume, and help you earn a promotion.
