Education

Undergraduate students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Business Intelligence, Management, Economics, and Secondary Business Teacher Certification. Other comprehensive bachelors’ programs within the College of Business & Technology include Information Technology, Agribusiness, Interior and Product Design, Aviation Systems, Industrial Distribution, Construction Management, Computer Science, Cyber Security Operations, Early Childhood and Family Advocacy, and Family Studies.

All students are must fulfill a 3-credit hour experiential learning experience. There are 10 hands-on experiential learning labs, such as Brewed Awakenings Coffee Shop, the only student-run business on campus. The Global Marketing Research Lab provides students with a space designed for conducting consumer research panel studies. An Industrial Distribution Simulation lab allows students to conduct mock sales meetings and inventory management. Aviation students can earn flight training hours while utilizing an Aviation Flight Simulator. Finance students manage real portfolios through the Bauhard Student Managed Investment Fund, which helps fund business scholarships. The Banker’s Lab familiarizes students with software commonly used in financial institutions. Students can also receive credit for internships, student teaching, or completing major projects within their field of study.

Graduate students can earn a Masters of Business Administration. This 33-credit hour program includes program tracks in Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, or students may pursue a Generalist MBA.

Student Life

Students graduate with an impressive resume of experiential learning experiences, including original research, consulting projects, internships, and study abroad trips. Four outreach centers provide students with opportunities to engage in practical experiences; the Nebraska Safety Center, Center for Entrepreneurship and Rural Development, Nebraska Business Development Center, and the Center for Economic Education. Each semester students help local and rural businesses complete consultation projects and share their results in the Kay Payne Case Competition. Students are also encouraged to attend Speaker Series events, such as the Baldwin Free Enterprise Lecture Series, the Executive in Residence Program, Ethics Day, and symposiums. In 2018, 56% of graduates completed an internship during their studies. During the 2019 summer, students had the opportunity to visit a remote village in Africa to help operate a rural health clinic in Zambia.

Online Programs

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is offered fully online. Students in this program will select a minor in Accounting, Entrepreneurship, or Marketing/Management.

The Blended MBA is perfect for students who desire more face-to-face interaction with their peers and professors than typical online programs but still need a flexible format because of a busy work schedule or distance from campus. In this program, students will complete their classes online, with six evening meetings per semester. For evening meetings, students have the option of coming to the campus or participating via video conference.
