Education

Having a full understanding of the business world is an important aspect of education through the Carlson School of Management. Because of this, 100% of Carlson students participate in an international learning experience. Business students can choose to specialize their degree with majors like Entrepreneurial Management, International Business, Marketing, or Finance. Minors in Business Analytics, Business Law, and Strategic Management are also available. At the graduate level, there are a variety of options as well, with programs in Accountancy, Business Taxation, Human Resource & Industrial Relations, and Supply Chain Management. U of M offers four distinct MBA programs, including a full-time MBA, part-time MBA, online MBA, and Executive MBA. The Executive MBA can be completed in Minneapolis, China, or Vienna.

Student Life

The University of Minnesota participates in Living Learning Communities, which offers over 30 interest-specific housing opportunities. Through this program, students are able to create lasting relationships both in the classroom and in their residence halls. Eight hundred student groups help create a welcoming atmosphere on-campus and offer many interesting clubs for those interested in the field of business. A few of these include Advertising Club, Alpha Kappa Psi, Asian Business and Economics Association, and Businesswomen and Mentors. Service-learning opportunities and community engagement projects allow students to build character and solve problems both on and off-campus. U of M is a very unique university with a student body that is made up of individuals from all 50 states, as well as more than 140 countries. Online Programs

Carlson S.o.M. students can earn their MBA in a convenient and flexible online format in as little as two years. The program comes complete with a virtual career coach who assists with interview prep, resumes, and more. As well as, an expansive alumni network of over 50,000. The vast majority of coursework for this distance MBA is completed online. Two residencies and a required global experience allow students to build relationships outside of the virtual classroom and see real-world business scenarios in action. On-campus career workshops, case competitions, professional development conferences, and student leadership events are all open and encouraged for online students as well. The application process for the online Master’s of Business Administration through the University of Minnesota is as easy as submitting a personal essay, GMAT/GRE scores, having two years of professional work experience, two professional references, current resume, transcripts, and a video essay.
