
The College of Business and Public Management at the University of La Verne works diligently to “Develop key business skills through etiquette training, job interview prep, simulated business scenarios, building case studies, consulting on real business and even creating a business with classmates.” These skills are taken a step further through participation with the Small Business Development Center, which hosts events and workshops for entrepreneurs, including students. The Center for Career and Professional Development provides both current students and those who have graduated with resources and networking opportunities for career advancement.
Education
The educational experience at La Verne is built around the core values of Ethical Reasoning, Community and Civic Engagement, Diversity and Inclusivity, and Lifelong Learning. Students will see these principles throughout their learning experience regardless of their major or level of studies. Those seeking their bachelor’s degree on-campus can choose from majors in Accounting, Business Administration, E-Commerce, Economics, Health Administration, or International Business and Language. Master’s degrees include Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, and more.
Student Life
The University of La Verne is located in a small town less than 30 miles from Las Angeles. Its unique location gives students a comfortable and approachable campus atmosphere with easy access to one of the largest and most diverse cities in the United States, just a short drive away. There are additionally six satellite campuses, two military centers, and a variety of online programs for students who do not live on-campus. The University is committed to helping students become well rounded and successful individuals. Because of this, there are many leadership, student development, service programs, and activities available. One example of such programs is Enactus, a nonprofit organization that works with students, faculty, and local business professionals to assist entrepreneurs and support a more sustainable world.
Online Programs
The online Bachelor’s programs at the University of La Verne have been top-rated by U.S. News and World Report within the nation and the state of California for three consecutive years. At this time, select states are eligible for these well-recognized distance programs. For undergraduate students, there are two degrees available, a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Administration. Minors available include Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, and Economics. At the graduate level, online students can complete their MBA or Master’s of Science in Leadership and Management. The distance MBA is not a standard Master’s of Business Administration. In fact, it is completely geared towards working professionals with a minimum of three years of experience. There are eight areas of focus in high demand subjects like Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, and International Business.
