The University of Georgia Terry College of Business’ mission is the “pursuit and dissemination of knowledge for the effective and ethical practice of business.” They are highly committed to advancing economic development through its three central tasks: teaching, research, and service. One of the College’s unique initiatives that combines all three of these areas is Studio 225-UGA’s Student Center for Entrepreneurship. This brand new space offers easy access to faculty, spaces for budding entrepreneurs to hold meetings and develop their ideas, and study nooks. There are also multipurpose spaces, such as a pitch deck, maker spaces, and collaboration spaces designed to help students work through business plans and share their ideas with potential investors. They also host many business-related activities such as pitch competitions, group meetings, accelerator programs, and an Entrepreneurship Speaker Series. The Terry College of Business is continuously taking steps to improve their programs. In fact, they have moved up three places to #37 overall and #16 among public universities in the most recent graduate school rankings from U.S. News & World Report.

Education

In 2012 the Terry College of Business celebrated an impressive 100 years of business education. Over the years, they have helped over 70,000 students reach their academic and career goals. This long-standing record of success is sure to continue as the College and University work diligently to expand and improve the business programs available. Graduates of the Terry College of Business can rest assured that the investment in their education will pay off. Ninety-eight percent of those who complete their degree are employed within three months of graduation. This high ratio is a testament to the quality of programs offered. These programs are available at both the undergraduate and graduate level and include bachelor’s degrees with relevant majors such as Management, Real Estate, Economics, and Accounting. Master’s degrees options are Master’s of Accountancy, Master’s of Marketing Research, and Master’s of Business and Technology. Three MBA’s are also available with formats in Professional, Executive, and Full-Time. Students wishing to earn their Ph.D. have an impressive eight areas of study to choose from.

Student Life

Several international study options are available to business students at the University of Georgia. These include study abroad opportunities, foreign exchange programs, and international internships. All of the exceptional Terry MBA degrees include optional global residency components with short-term or full semester commitments. These programs allow students to experience new cultures on a first-hand basis while still earning credit towards their degree. Unique conferences are held on campus to broaden student awareness in areas such as women professionals and an economic outlook series.

Online Programs

The Terry COB provides the online degree options of Bachelor’s of Business Administration or Master’s of Business Technology. Among many other recognitions for their online programs, the University of Georgia was recently ranked #5 for best online bachelor’s programs overall by U.S. News and World Report. These types of acknowledgments help students to rest assured that they are receiving a high-quality distance education.
