
College of Business students at the University of Findlay learn through an active approach that includes many experiential learning opportunities. This includes working with small business owners, community partners, nonprofit organizations, and entrepreneurs to solve real-world business dilemmas. The University recently celebrated the opening of the Center for Student Life and College of Business building. This new building offers classrooms, green spaces, and flexible learning areas. Interviewing and meeting spaces are also available for students to meet with community mentors.
Education
At the University of Findlay, undergraduate College of Business students work towards their Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. All participants follow a comprehensive business core with classes such as Principles of Financial Accounting, Business Communications, Business Research, and Leadership and Development courses. Outside of the core curriculum, an emphasis can be chosen from high demand areas such as Accounting, Economics, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or Sports Business Strategy.
A Master’s of Business Administration is offered at the graduate level. This program can be completed on-campus, online, or in a blended format. Some students finish their degree in as little as one year on a full-time basis, but the option is available to extend that timeline by working at your own pace.
Student Life
The Center for Career and Professional Development at UF is an excellent resource for business students. The Center coordinates professional development and experiential learning opportunities, all with the goal of empowering students as they work towards employment. Important skills such as personal branding, practicing interviews at job fairs and workshops, finding internship opportunities, and building a strong network are all a part of this comprehensive service.
The Office of Student Activities, Commuter Services, and Leadership Development organizes a variety of on-campus events, clubs, and activities. Accounting Club, Public Relations Student Society of America, Sigma Kappa, and Delta Mu Delta are several of the organizations that include a business focus. The Academic Support Center provides many free services to support students at all stages of their learning career. Free tutoring, writing assistance, study skills training, and online student support are available to all University students.
Online Programs
The University of Findlay’s online programs are taught by the same high-quality professors as the on-campus options. The Master’s of Business Administration offered through the College of Business has the option to be completed online or in a blended format. Critical thinking skills play a vital role in the delivery of the curriculum. An emphasis is placed on navigating complex business issues, analyzing and implementing effective business strategies, as well as, leadership skills and development. Courses are completed in eight-week blocks and cover up to date topics like Leadership and Organizational Behavior, Marketing Management and Planning, and Accounting for Managers.
