The University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ AACSB-accredited College of Business began in 1965. It values student success, innovation, building relationships, excellence, integrity, and professionalism. The COB offers small class sizes that offer greater engagement and allow for more productive class interactions.

Education

The College of Business is the very first institution to create and offer a Bachelor of Innovation in Business Administration degree that focuses in on how innovative thought plays a huge role in the success of businesses worldwide. Undergraduate students can also study for a Bachelor of Science in Business. Both bachelor degrees have specializations in Finance, Information Systems, Accounting, International Business, Human Resource Management, Sport Management, Management, and PGA Golf Management. Entrepreneurship is available as a minor course of study. Graduate students can pursue a Master of Business Administration through flexible options. MBA specializations include Innovation Management, Health Care Administration, and Finance. There is also the Master of Science in Accounting.

Delivering the lectures, administering the curriculum, and mentoring students is the job of the excellent, top-notch faculty members. For his outstanding knowledge and accomplishment in the field of organization development, Dr. Donald Warrick received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Student Life

Participation in the numerous organizations and clubs provided by the College of Business is highly recommended. Students can choose from the Management Club, the Adam Smith Society, the Accounting Honor Society, Sport Management Activities Committee, and many others. There are a variety of internship opportunities in areas like venture capital, marketing/PR, and investment banking in places like New York, London, and Boston. Career Services includes the College of Business Career Development Center, Career Events, and Career Coaching. 

Three-week International Business Seminars assist students in obtaining an international experience that will deepen their global perspective. Some of the locations are BI Norwegian Business School in Norway, MCI Management Center Innsbruck in Austria, Taiwan Tech School of Management, and Stockholm University in Sweden. UCCS has joined with the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany to provide a Dual Degree program. Once this degree is complete, students will have earned two bachelors degrees, one from each of these institutions. 

The Alumni Association helps keep the almost 10,000 alumni connected, fosters lifelong learning and continued relationships and networking opportunities. They also honor two people every year with the Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award and the Next Generation Entrepreneur Award. The Daniel Funds Ethics Initiative educates business and university students, faculty, staff, educators, and the local community in the importance of ethics in business. The Center for Entrepreneurship serves the university and the community by educating them on the importance of entrepreneurship and what it is all about. The Garage is an entrepreneurship center for students to receive support on every level for their innovative start-up business ideas. Students can utilize the working space, workshops, activities, mentoring, and events.

Online Programs

UCCS offers seven online Undergraduate Degree programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. They offer 13 online Master’s Degrees, including their online MBA program which began in 1996.
