The Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, has ranked among the Top 50 Business Schools by US News and World Report for 24 years. The Mike and Renee Child Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a truly unique resource for UC Davis business students. The Institute blends business and science to create a social benefit. Through several integrative programs, researchers in engineering, social sciences, humanities, and science work with MBA students, UC Davis undergraduates, faculty, experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate leaders to support technology and commercialization activities. Programs provided are relevant and innovation-driven such as Entrepreneurship Academies, Big Bang! Business Competition and Business Development Fellows.

Education

The Master’s of Business Administration program offered through the Graduate School of Management at UC Davis was recently ranked among the Top 50 MBA Programs by US News and World Report. MBA options include full-time, part-time Bay Area, part-time Sacramento, or online. Two other graduate degrees are available in MPAc Accounting and MSBA Business Analytics.

Student Life

There are over 800 clubs and organizations on campus at UC Davis. Several choices that might interest business students are Aggies for Humanity, Alpha Kappa Psi, Ascend, or Circle K International. 23 Division I athletic teams, 37 sports clubs, and 27 intramural sports make it easy for those who are interested in athletics to find a team to participate with or support. Students interested in expanding their artistic ability have over 90 classes to choose from each quarter, covering skills such as glass blowing, welding, ceramics, and textiles. A 25-acre Equestrian Center operates year-round. The Center is open to both new and experienced riders and offers several specialized outreach programs.

Online Programs

Students can work towards their master’s degree through the online MBA at the University of California, Davis. This distance program combines both on-campus and online learning through a comprehensive platform. Much of the coursework is self-paced, but participants will build a sense of community through live online classes held via webcam and in-person residencies. The residencies are held in Silicon Valley, Davis, and Napa and include peers, professors, and business leaders.

Classes are taught by the same top-ranked professors as the on-campus program. Expected learning outcomes for graduates include developing management and leadership skills. Students will also work on improving writing, speaking, and critical thinking abilities. Electives in areas like entrepreneurship, marketing, analytics, organizational behavior, and technology management encourage a deeper understanding of specific areas of business. The overall curriculum is designed to give students a working knowledge of many fundamental business areas such as financial accounting, digital marketing, negotiation in organizations, and marketing analytics.
