The University of Baltimore was founded in 1925 as a business and law school for working professionals to take evening classes. Merrick School of Business sits among a vibrant business community, rich with opportunities for students to engage in local commerce. This AACSB accredited business school is lead by a diverse faculty, with more than half of all business professors born outside of the United States. This naturally opens doors for discussions surrounding international business, as well as provides excellent ties for students wishing to complete a global experience. In 2016, U.S. News and World Report ranked the undergraduate business programs among the best in the nation.

They can also tailor their schedule by choosing to take accelerated seven-week courses or 15-week semester-long courses during the fall and spring, and either five-week or eight-week sessions during the summer.

Student Life

Merrick School of Business is home to over 1,500 undergraduate and graduate business students, nearly one-third of the student body population of UB. The Entrepreneurship Fellows program is paving an unconventional education route for millennial entrepreneurs. Fellows will undergo intensive tutorials in establishing a business and work alongside a successful entrepreneur. This allows them to have two years of college completely funded, freeing up money to start their business prior to graduation. There are several student organizations and business honor societies for students to join, such as the Coalition of UB Entrepreneurs, UB Investment Society, and the Real Estate and Economic Development Association. Students can also spend the summer studying abroad in Berlin, Germany or take a trip in 2020 to Ghana, Thailand, or Switzerland. Previous destinations have also included Chile, China, Japan, India, Peru, and others.

Online Programs

Students in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration never have to step foot on campus. The MBA can also be earned fully online and has been ranked among the Best Online MBA programs by U.S. News and World Report in 2019.
