The College of Business at the University of Alabama in Huntsville has a mission to spark new ideas through research, fuel innovation in business, and launch the careers of their students.

The institution taps the energy, creativity, and expertise of its students, faculty, and community to inspire innovation in business education and practices. The school’s academic programs stress leadership, critical thinking, innovation, analytical reasoning, and ethical decision-making to launch the careers of its diverse population of students.

Education

A distinctive feature of the College is a concerted effort to engage all students in the learning process as much as possible. This dedication to experiential learning and “hands-on” types of activities is evident throughout the curriculum. It takes place in the classroom through activities like projects involving local organizations, role-playing games that immerse students in the world of theory and concept, and extensive exercises in written and oral communication.

One of the most significant results of dedication to experiential learning is that it offers a student the chance to graduate with a toolkit of practical application skills. While a student at another school may have heard about it or read about a component of successful business, many of the business school’s students have experienced it. The College of Business believes this trait makes its students more marketable and capable of making immediate, positive contributions to their organizations.

The business school features undergraduate degrees like a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a BS in Economics and Computational Analysis. The Business Administration degree gives students the chance to commit to a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Management, and Marketing. Graduate students can choose from a Master of Accountancy, an MBA, a Master of Science in Management Science, and a Master of Science in Information Systems.

Student Life

UAH has plenty of ways for students to get involved outside the classroom. There are currently over 200 registered student organizations. The University features an active Fraternity and Sorority community, sports and recreational programs, and a Student Government Association. The school believes the best way for the student body to connect with fellow students is to live on campus. The suite-style residence halls at Alabama offer an inclusive and vibrant environment that encourages academic achievement, inspires personal development, promotes diversity, and recognizes student leadership and involvement. The College of Business Ambassadors are the business school’s official hosts and representatives. With hobbies and interests that range from student government to Greek life, the business school Ambassadors are committed to public outreach and making everyone feel welcome.

Online Programs

The two business degrees currently offered at the College of Business are the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management and the Master of Science in Information Systems. These online programs are designed for working professionals interested in advancing their careers by expanding their skills, knowledge, and understanding of logistics, supply chain management, managerial, and executive IS positions.
