The AACSB-accredited School of Business at Trinity University believes in providing the ideal learning environment filled with competent and motivated students, rigorous and modern curriculum, and engaging and passionate professors. Other benefits include collaboration amongst the School and leaders in the business community, ethical programs that offer experiential learning, and international opportunities. Around 520 students walk through innovative programs that both build a strong foundation in business concepts and a deep understanding of the liberal arts. Students graduate with critical thinking, effective communication, and decision-making skills and obtain technical knowledge and global awareness ready to lead and serve all kinds of organizations and communities.  

Education

The School of Business is made up of three departments: Business Administration, Accounting, and Finance & Decision Sciences. Faculty are actively engaged in research in all of these areas. Undergraduate students can choose from a variety of majors including Finance, Accounting, International Business, Business Analytics & Technology, and Business Administration, with concentration options in Marketing or Management. Students can minor in Business Administration Legal Studies or Business and have the option of interdisciplinary minors in Sport Management or Communication Management.  

The Masters in Accounting program is designed as part of the five-year Accounting program where students can acquire both the Bachelors and Masters in Accounting degrees in only five years. Students with Accounting undergraduate degrees from other universities can also apply. Qualifying students can find financial assistance through scholarships and graduate assistantships.  

Trinity gives business students several ways to take their education internationally. They can travel with a faculty member and spend three weeks in Cuba or Vietnam studying all areas of economic development. There is an immersive trip to Madrid where students live with host families for a summer session and intern at different businesses across the city. Students can also spend a summer in Shanghai studying the Chinese business industry, government, and economy or in Beijing, meeting with executives and researching with Chinese graduates.  

Student Life

As important as academic studies and classroom learning is to a student, it is just as important to experience learning, build leadership skills, pursue new adventures, and make friends outside of the classroom. Trinity has an abundant campus life full of activities and events that challenge and excite students and provides ways for students to serve each other and the community. A variety of student organizations are available to join. Groups include the Student Government Association, Black Student Union, Alpha Kappa Psi, Catholic Student Group, International Club, Indigenous People’s Club, Accounting Association, Chess Club, and Club Sports.

Each degree program is filled with experiential learning opportunities like Accounting students meeting with accounting firms and Finance students managing the $6 million Student Management Fund. Opportunities exist to work with real clients on real projects and gain incredible teamwork, communication, and professional skills. Business students are highly encouraged to complete an internship with a variety of different types of companies like Disney, the San Antonio Spurs, AT&T, local museums, and global accounting firms.
