In adherence to the SoB’s mission to offer hands-on programs, students are immersed in business courses starting their freshman year.
Freshman hit the ground running with business fundamentals in pursuits of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Economics, Finance, Financial Planning, Marketing, or Management. Business Administration majors enhance their degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Managerial Accounting, or Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Checkpoints along the way ensure students are on the right track to success. By the end of the first year, students will have a business plan, and by the time students graduate, they’ll have at least one internship under their belt. Students will create a portfolio consisting of presentations and internship projects. The accelerated 2-in-4 program allows highly driven students to earn their bachelor’s and MBA degree in just four years by enrolling in courses that fulfill the requirements for both degrees. The program saves students money, time, and impresses employers. The ambitious nature of students who pursue this degree often results in a full-time position prior to graduation. Students in this program have the flexibility to decide weekly whether to attend classes in-person, through live stream or online, so they can stay late to tackle that big project at the office and catch up on class afterward.
Graduate students can stand out in the corporate world by earning an MBA or a specialized master’s degree in Business Analytics, Accounting, Financial Planning, or Organizational Change Leadership. MBA students can take their degree up a notch by earning a specialized Certificate of Advanced Study in Business Analytics, Financial Planning, or Organizational Leadership and Change Management.
Huether students with high academic achievements will be invited to join the Delta Mu Delta or Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society. In 2016, business students won second place in the Federal Reserve Bank Challenge. The Career Center hosts the Career Carnival each fall as a fun way for students to learn about the services they offer. Students can learn about careers by attending a career roundtable, network with alumni at an etiquette dinner, or get a professional LinkedIn Headshot.
The Flex MBA allows professionals to take classes their way. Each week you are able to make the decision to log in for a class via live streaming, watch it at a later time, or even show up for an in-person class. This flexibility means you can travel for work without worrying about missing classes, or take a new job mid-semester that requires later work hours.
