
Texas A&M University-Central Texas’ College of Business Administration is comprised of the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics; the Department of Computer Information Systems; and the Department of Management and Marketing. COBA has many programs accredited through the ACBSP, is an AACSB Business Education Alliance Member, and the founding university of One Planet Business Schools.
Education
Undergraduate students can pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, Computer Information Systems, Accounting, or Finance. Students in the Computer Information Systems program can select a concentration area in Business Analytics, Cybersecurity, Management and Networking, or Software and Database Design. Further degree options include a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Business Management or Information Technology. Graduate students can pursue a Master of Business Administration or a Master of Science in One Planet Leadership, Accounting, or Information Systems. All masters programs are 36 credit hours, with the exception of the Accounting program, which is 30 credit hours. Students in the on-campus MBA program can typically complete the program within two years and can choose from an emphasis in either Computer Information Systems, Management, or Marketing. Students in the MS Accounting program will be prepared to sit for the CPA Exam.
Student Life
The Department of Management and Marketing is the largest department on campus, with approximately 30% of the student body enrolled in one of these programs. Business organizations within this department include the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Marketing Association, the Marketing Research Club, and the National Delta Mu Delta Honor Society. Accounting students can join the Warrior Accounting Society and the Institute of Management Accountants. An annual Inaugural Summit on Sustainability is also offered, featuring key-note speakers, such as business leaders and sustainability advocates. This two-day summit also consists of breakout sessions, special workshops, discussion panels, and scholarly paper presentations. No matter what stage of education students are at or what programs they are studying, Texas A&M-Central Texas is there to offer support through a variety of areas, which include GRE preparation, Study Abroad Programs, Tutoring, and Workshops.
Online Programs
Online programs follow the rigorous standards for the Quality Matters Implementation Plan. Faculty members who instruct online courses complete additional professional development in online teaching, online teaching methods, and online course design. All courses are also reviewed each semester by peer reviewers and master reviewers.
The BBA in Management, Human Resource Management, and Business Management are all offered fully online to allow students who work to manage their career and other commitments. Students in the convenient online MBA program are able to choose a concentration in Computer Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Management, Healthcare Administration, or International Business. The online MBA has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a Top 50 Online Program for Veterans. The MS in One Planet Leadership and Information Systems are also offered online.
