Through a New York initiative to help students achieve their goal of earning a higher education, students are able to attend tuition-free if their family income falls below $125,000. The School of Business and Hospitality Management offers a world-class education with exceptional hands-on learning opportunities on campus. The Hospitality Management program has been recognized by the National Restaurant Association as one of the best programs in the nation. Graduates assume positions with Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott.

Education

Business students can pursue an associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or Marketing. Bachelor’s business programs include Accounting: Information Systems Auditing, Business and Technology Management, Healthcare Management, Human Resource Management, and Information Technology Management. Hospitality Management degrees are offered at the associate’s and bachelor’s levels in Culinary Arts, Event Management, and Hotel and Restaurant Management. Faculty for these programs bring a myriad of experiences, including a seasoned CPA, to teach accounting classes. Specialized technology labs feature Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and InDesign to give students an edge on software commonly used in a business setting.

Student Life

Hospitality students gain first-hand experience working at the on-campus restaurant and 18-hole golf course or experience the magic of working for Disney through the six-month Walt Disney College Program. Business students have opportunities to work in administrative offices on campus and serve their community through the VITA tax assistance program. Students can also pursue their own projects, such as establishing a database for a non-profit through the Independent Study course. Internships can also be completed through local businesses.

The Applied Learning and Career Center can ensure students are prepared for these experiences through Career Prep Day, networking and recruitment events, and exploring various options such as service-learning, field study, civic engagement, and international internships. The Bronco Investment Group teaches students how to manage money and scope out profitable investments, and the Computer Club focuses on utilizing social media to promote businesses. Some of the other student organizations include the Club Managers Association of America, Delhi Dollar Scholars, the Hotel Management Society, and the Professional Golf Management Club. Students can impress employers with a well-rounded co-curricular transcript filled with on-campus jobs, attendance at professional workshops, service on a campus committee, and club participation.
